As Obama rails against "slash & burn" politics, his top Hollywood fundraiser - David Geffen - personally attacks Hillary & her family
Clinton Communications Director Howard Wolfson issued the following statement today demanding that Barack Obama disavow personal attacks that his campaign finance chair made against Senator Clinton in this morning's New York Times:
"While Senator Obama was denouncing slash and burn politics yesterday, his campaign's finance chair was viciously and personally attacking Senator Clinton and her husband.
"If Senator Obama is indeed sincere about his repeated claims to change the tone of our politics, he should immediately denounce these remarks, remove Mr. Geffen from his campaign and return his money.
"While Democrats should engage in a vigorous debate on the issues, there is no place in our party or our politics for the kind of personal insults made by Senator Obama's principal fundraiser.
Geffen took long enough to see through the mud, but he eventually did.
Hillary might be smarter to let this crap roll off her back, rather than keep it in the headlines...
Yes, he is pretty slimey. I appreciate your sacrifice. :-)
Oraq Ibomba is sincere bout everything but does not know if he is white or black.
I find Geffen's comments about Hillary rather accurate.
As flamingly queer as a San Francisco democrat
Catfight alert!
I am telling you this is going to get more vicious as it goes along, the big demos don't want Hillary and they are sending Obama after her big time. TOO much fun
This is particularly amusing because Bill and Hillary thought that Hollywood loved them. Hillary was quoted in the book, Partners in Power, as saying that there were two kinds of people in Arkansas, the dirt and the rich, that they got their votes from the dirt and made their friends among the rich. Some one should tell Hillary that she and Bill don't have any real friends. You have to be a friend to have friends.
This ending blurb is just RIPE with good stuff. The pardon of Marc Rich and Pincus Green was so telling -- and it is one of the things that should give Rudy a wonderful counterpoint if he gets the nod to oppose Hillary. It was Rudy who was the prosecutor pursuing Marc Rich only to see Bubba give him a last minute pardon ("he had been punished enough"). This will bring back all of Bill and Hill's last minute shennigans and pay-offs for political donations, etc.
Nice to see David Geffen being honest enough to make these statements despite knowing how the Clintonoids would come back at him. I wonder how the Hollyweird celebs will react to Clinton's camp going after one of their favorite sons.
"This" is a vicious and personal attack???..lawdy, lawdy..
Senator Clinton and her husband; is this another change in style?
Kind of like saying, Kermit and his father.
Ding!
What round is this? :-)
With the Clintons, it's ALL about the money!! They are nothing but white trash. Thought they could buy some class by hanging out with Hollywood millionaires, but even the millionaires have seen through them now. They got NOTHIN'. Hear how loud they screech when they lose their money people. The voters? Not so much.
It will be fun seeing them try to kiss and make up when one is the prez nominee and the other is vp. Make some great commercials for the GOP to show one ripping the other.
Or, it will never happen.
David Geffen has REAL power in this country. He ain't scared of no Clintons. "Politics is just Hollywood for ugly people."
Actually, I might have to disagree with you there.
At the big Speilberg-Geffen bash, Mr. Hussein Obama was able to gross only $1.3M, which is an absolutely PATHETIC take.
Mitt "The Stormin' Mormon" Romney is regularly taking in more than FOUR times that amount at his dinners [$6M+].
When the PIAPS does Hollywood, she'll be expecting to draw EIGHT times that amount [$10M+].
If a measly $1.3M is the best that Mr. Hussein Obama can muster from the likes of David Geffen & The Sodomites, then the dude is toast: Break out the champagne, Hillary, 'cause the fat lady has sung.
