A lot of people comment. Tony Snow comments. Rush Limbaugh comments. Comments don't win wars.

Ronald Reagan himself could come back and support Rudy and you'd call him a liar.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maggie_Gallagher

Maggie Gallagher (born 14 September 1960) is a United States writer and commentator who has written a syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate since 1995. Her most recent book is The Case for Marriage: Why Married People are Happier, Healthier, and Better Off Financially (Doubleday, 2000), which she co-authored with Linda J. Waite, a professor of sociology at the University of Chicago. Gallagher is widely known as a strong social conservative. Her opposition to pornography led her to give a surprisingly positive statement about radical feminist Andrea Dworkin when she died. She has also been actively opposed to assisted suicide. Hence she wrote editorials in defense of the position of Terri Schiavo's parents. She is also among America's foremost opponents of same-sex marriage.

Not from me. I love GWB. Sorry, pal - you can try that with some unsuspecting person, but not me.

A military guy told me last week GWB is not a conservative, but a good man with a good heart. I agree with him.

And Rudy took on the "5 families" (mafia) in NYC...infinitely more dangerous than the ones you mentioned.

Wonder how she will spin the Rudster's support for the so-called "civil unions" which is kinda like a marriage only different, somehow.

Cheney is second in line to the Presidency. Therefore, he too should have served in the military, according to some people's rules. Not mine, but then I'm not running this litmus test.

No, I didn't vote for Clinton. But I am not sure where his and President Bush's policies are all that different.

It's hard to see a state that George Bush won in which Rudy Giuliani will not beat Hillary Clinton

Even a strict conservative like Maggie realizes that.

And America's symbol, the Statue of Liberty is on NYC's shore. The Revolutionary War was fought there. The world's biggest and most vibrant market the New York Stock Exchange is there.

I could go on and on ...

New York: An Island off the coast of America, as a famous New Yorker cartoon pointed out.

Nobody really raises families there. Unless they are dirt poor, or can afford to send their kids to Dalton, they get out once they have kids. Effete yuppies and third world immigrants is what you have there. Its as American as San Francisco.

I think that's a photo shop from a "Spiff" wannabe.

Why worry about the truth when it's so easy to lie!

This is just one more piece of evidence that indicates how liberal someone can be and still attract the vote of a "conservative" in New York City.

It baffles the heck out of my how someone who refused to ever vote for Rudy Giuliani in a New York City mayoral race would even think of voting for him in any other election.

I think MilesBenell means that Ronald Reagan never served overseas during World War II. He was stationed in Hollywood because of bad eyesight. Also FDR never served a day in the armed forces.

Thanks for the ping. Acknowledging Rudy's leadership in the crime jungle and the terrorists' rubble. No small matter considering that the Clintons allowed Osama bin Laden to go free a dozen times they could have killed or captured him. Richard Miniter, Losing bin Laden, Regnery, 2003.

And that for the great Eleanor Rodham the little unpleasantness of September 11 was mainly a case of bad air quality.

As for the "second wife", why boohoo the deepsixing of Ms. Vagina Monologues.

Talk about an affront to social conservatives--that play and its willing handmaidens.

Which is right down Eleanor's alley along with the White House Christmas tree described by FBI agent-retired Gary Aldrich in Unlimited Access, Regnery, 1996.

I lived and worked (Amer.Museum.Nat.Hist.) in NYC and I also had a place at the end of the island (North Sea/Sag Harbor area) before Rudy and during Rudy. I had 2 CCWs with permits and was never hassled. The apparent safety in the City was suddenly and conspicuously raised by a factor of 2-fold each successive month of his programs. He cleaned up a murderous-cesspool---America's most complex city with 7 plus million inhabitants---virtually overnight.

Where I differ with the Rudy supporters is over the premise that only he can defeat Hillary, that there is a default tidal wave of support in America for her, and that traditional values are either dead or irrelevant; they're not, esp. as seen by little eyes developing a lifelong perception of normalcy.

Rudy is an excellent person. No one can take away his post-9/11 leadership or his winning smile. He's just not GOP-nominee material, doesn't fit ideologically with the party (incl. seemlingly many of his supporters). He's not someone I would want my son to aspire to become.

That said, I do hope he is able to serve his country in another capacity, perhaps a cabinet position, that makes better use of his strengths. Nothing personal here, no offense indended.

"you can try that with some unsuspecting person, but not me."

You need to read a little more closely and a little more critically.

I am the strongest GWB supporter around.

The comment was concerning the "cheap shot" that Rudy was a Draft Dodger... this kind of comment is worthless... I know... I served at that time.

My comment was that this was a shot of the same caliber as the worthless comments from the DU (Democratic Underground)against our President.

Comprendez vous?
