Even in the heyday of the East Bloc, there were active dissident groups in these countries. The scary thing is, I sometimes believe they are right.

Several years ago there was an article in the Toastmaster Magazine. Plain and simple it identified PC for what it was/is. Mind, Thought, and Speech Control. I call it the Simon Sez Syndrome. You can also call it Pee Pee aka Proactive Propoganda!

Say Global Warming enough times and it becomes an irrefutable fact(oid). Scientific Socialism will NOT allow for any other opinions!!!

Toastmasters believe in Free Speech and Communications is the basis for our Democracy. That's why Kucinich's attempt to reinstitute the fairness doctrine is a stealth attack on free speech as is McCain Feingold campaign reform!

Long read but well worth it. Marxism lives today as political correctness and controlling free speech is an essential step for creating a totalitarian state. There is a very telling quote from Marx in the article:

"Peace is the absence of opposition to socialism".

That explains so much of the left's mindset. Interestingly you can change one word in the quote and explain the religion of peace.

Ann Coulter has described public schools as the "madrasas of the left". She's right of course.

It follows that a civilization unwilling to defend itself will be soon conquered. Europe has fallen and we are not far behind.

Political correctness is the means by which the narcissistic liberal tries to re-arrange his/her "oppressed" childhood by fiat, by seeing to it that "others" do not have to "suffer" as they did. A way to show how mean and bigoted (white) daddy was, etc.

It is 180 degrees from nature and will only serve to emasculate the "herd" to the point of total submission to it's enemies.

If not curtailed, it will sink western civilization!

We don't have free speech anymore. About 95% of the time, you won't go to prison for speaking your mind but there are consequences such as loss of job, getting black balled by other employers after getting fired, getting sued, getting banned by certain social groups and so on.

When I was in NZ, talking with many of the natives, they believe in the right to speak your mind such that you are entitled to speak it. They mentioned about us Americans being so schizophrenic with our belief of freedom but then dealing with P.C.

Good point. No large multicultural nation has ever survived for any length of time without resort to authoritarian or totalitarian government to keep all the factions under control. Political correctness is simply a form of creeping totalitarianism - so also are such manifestations as "anti-hate speech" laws, and racial quotas.

Thanks for these informative quotes. I had an overwhelming hunch that the very term "Political Correctness" reeked of the Marxist rhetorical style. Turns out I was right.
