Much like Black History Month does not add one Iota of educational value to blakcs who are having trouble in reading and math skills.
Perhaps it makes them feel better about themselves, but the time would be better spent on other skills.
Agreed, but it's "proud" when you can back it up, i.e. being good at math; when you can't back it up, it's just plain "vanity".
It does not make them feel better about themselves. I once suggested that our school have a Black Future Month as well as the history month. Nobody was interested. The children do not enjoy being reminded over and over that they came from slaves. I told a black teenager that he would probably enjoy reading 'Call of the Wild.' He asked (in a sarcastic voice), "Why do you think I would enjoy that? Because the author was black?" They are sick of hearing about it, but I guess Black History Month does something for the black politicians.
