but, but, but, Jim, if a Conservative Republican won that means some of the folks here will have to loose the house cleaner, babysitter, yard cleaner, etc. and pay regular wages to legal workers. :)

My chin isn't on the ground, but thanks for the pep talk.

My sole purpose, on this thread, was to correct the posted misconception of how the platform planks of the GOP are written; who writes them, who has control of writing them, and the fact that they haven't been changed for decades and shan't be changed in '08, by whoever is the presumptive candidate.

The platform is solidified BEFORE the presumptive candidate accepts the nomination and become THE CANDIDATE.

Thanks for your honesty. I really am just now learning more about your views here. I am curious as to why you are abandoning conservatism for liberalism? This is not sarcasm or anything else, I simply want to know what prompted you down this path since you first joined FR in 1998?

As long as I have been on FR, you have been on the side of, and supported every liberal position.

You are not fooling anyone here, neither are your liberal friends.

The whole illegal alien mess is so out of control it's unbelievable, and yet all we hear from Washington is that we have to grant them amnesty (AKA comprehensive immigration reform)...

To the open borders politicians who refuse to represent us, and who obviously profit from open borders and think more of their "position" than their country, go to hell.
