To: nopardons

Thanks for your honesty. I really am just now learning more about your views here. I am curious as to why you are abandoning conservatism for liberalism? This is not sarcasm or anything else, I simply want to know what prompted you down this path since you first joined FR in 1998?

I am not now, nor have I ever been 1) a Democrat ( unlike many here ) 2) nor am I "abandoning conservatism for liberalism".

When it's a choice between a damned Dem and a GOPer, I vote GOP; always have!

The upcoming presidential election is one of the most important in our lifetime. Our side needs someone who can not only beat the Dem, but give us a lot of what we all claim that we want. Those who go the all or nothing route, or delusionally imagine that one of the bottom tier runners or someone who has yet to enter the race, can not only win the nomination, but beat the Dem candidate are fooling themselves.

But this is NOT the topic of this thread.
