Good. I worked on a dairy farm for nearly 6 years and it didn't kill me. It didn't make me rich but I learned the value of good honest hard work. I'm assuming there are teenagers and young adults in Vermont.

140 years ago the same thing was said about slaves. But slavery kept working men in the south poor, because they could not compete for jobs. The Mexicans are being exploited by their employers, for the employers are willing to hire them illegally, rather than go through the necessary channels to hire them (or locals for that matter) legally.

We are already paying nearly twice the actual market price for milk so we can subsidize these blue state farmers and they are whining about not being able to have illegals working their farms??? Wow, that is just stunningly obnoxious.

It sounds bad to say, but we really need to close down a whole bunch of these dairy farms because they are not efficient and they are a pork project benefitting a small number of people and political whores like Jim Jeffors, Pat Leahy, Russ Feingold, Herb Kohl and other blue staters (mostly). It took the 1994 Revolution to stop paying farmers to NOT plant crops and we have now turned back to doing that AND we are forcing consumers to overpay for milk so tiny farms in rich areas can keep feeling up their cows. (oh boy, that one is going to bring out the flames).

I grew up in Vermont. I did not live on a farm. The rich kids did. I posted that one other time and was told I was wrong. Nope. The farmers in VT get lots of perks. Including slave labor apparently.

I've Immigrants in Mi Familia. Some just on the good side of legal.

What ticks me off is the drain on the US economy by "remittances" to other countries. Coupled with some expectancy of social or medical aid here, it's a wee bit much.

Saw a breakdown yesterday or the day before of remittances; oddly, Mexico was #3, either India or Pakistan were #1.

And wonder of wonder, France was #5.

We do help La Familia overseas, fair enough. But every buck that goes OUT is one less in circulation here with Adam Smith.

Not one big on taxation, but some line on remittances has to be drawn.

It's earned here and should be spent here or saved here. It's continuity of the system...
