She sounds American. If so I am honored even to share nationality with someone like that. She seems to be like one of those incredibly brave Filipino women who fought and spied against the Japanese, knowing that they faced a hideous death if caught. I hope Laura is now in America and living in some small town where her neighbors would notice dark Arab-looking strangers.
