WASHINGTON Old enemies of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton are out in force. Just weeks after she joined the Democratic Party's flock of presidential contenders, Clinton is being targeted by conservative and Republican-allied activists intent on derailing her campaign before the start of next year's primaries.
They have surfaced with a flurry of planned projects: a Michael Moore-style documentary film, book-length exposes, and websites such as StopHerNow.comand StopHillaryPAC.com.
Conservative admirers of the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth media blitz that helped torpedo Democratic Sen. John F. Kerry's presidential candidacy in 2004 are now agitating to "Swift-boat" Clinton.
.........Clinton campaign insiders say Web-savvy staffers are immersed in monitoring suspected enemy blogs and websites and conservative cable TV and radio talk shows.
Clinton also reportedly spent lavishly to hire a large team of opposition researchers headed by Judd Legum, previously research director for the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank headed by former Clinton White House chief of staff John Podesta.
.....Clinton intimates said she would also eventually rely on veterans of her husband's administration such as James Carville and Paul Begala to run interference on television, and on the street-fighter instincts of longtime political aide Harold M. Ickes for behind-the-scenes advice.
"We tend to think the blogs will drive a lot of the news," Ickes said recently.
"Even if you think it's completely false or outlandish, you ignore it at your peril."

Oh, the Clinton activists are on FR every day and some of them have been here for years.
"Judd Legum, previously research director for the Center for American Progress"
Correction, I wrote above as though the entire team of Hillarity's "opposition researchers" was hired en masse from the Center for American Progress..... but it may be only Judd Legum, with others hired from various other places. Still, I would like to know a lot more about how Hillarity's "shadow government" has been functioning in places like the "Center for American Progress".....
"The Center for American Progress is a non-profit, non-partisan organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. Donations are tax-deductible."

They're going to expose the truth about her and have to battle the MSM to do it? What else is new?!?!?!?
I'm with you. IMHO, those files, and others her servants have collected (and made up) are the primary reason no one has gone after her as they could in the past two elections. The Republican insiders are genuinely afraid of her. They must be, she has so much baggage, they ought to be able to put her through a blender.
However, now that it's all or nothing, I suspect the non-MSM media and 3rd party organizations (like the swiftboat group) will carry the water and the info war.
I also believe that the effort to protect the Hildabeast in the MSM will go far beyond anything done before for a Democrat candidate. And, whoever the Republican is, he will get nastier hits than the Dan Rather stuff on Bush. It going to be a real war this time around. Personally, I don't think the Republican Party organization has stomach for it and is already writing their post election excuses.
That pretty much sums it up.
"Begala, Carville, Lehane, McCurry, Lockhart, Ickes, etc.... all worked for Jhon Cari's campaign and failed miserably, especially McCurry with his election night comments about the exit polls."
Perhaps they weren't trying to win and were successful. If Jhon had won, he, not Mrs. Clinton, would be running in 2008.
Do we really want to take a chance that Janet and her ilk will sit on the SCOTUS?

Lot's of decoys will keep them all busy, then we'll just slip one past her team of anti-bloggers. Hee, hee, hee.
That's not as far fetched as some would have us believe. The Clinton people are certainly capable of planning a senario such as that. And as history shows us, the Clinton inner circle would toss their mothers overboard if it suited the goals of either Clinton. Too bad we don't have a few Republicans with backbones that command that degree of loyalty. Say what you will about the Clintons, scum that they are, they play to win. Not something we can say about many Republicans.
