You have to see how smooth Romney handles this heckler:

Unchecked bigotry, illustrated by this heckler, toward Mormons is unbelievable. If someone stood up and commented about a person's gender, race, etc., the public and media would be outraged. My guess the mainstream media lets this go unchecked.

BUMP!
Thank you.
You have your nimwitted preacher teaching you what equates to lies about Mormons and you simply, I believe, refuse to listen to any other source.
Why bother with someone like you?
Your response is an attack on me, my "preacher" and well known facts about Mormon teachings.
They are not well known, and they certainly aren't facts.
In the end, you and your preacher are still telling lies about Mormons.
When you start out with a false basis you can go no where but wrong.
You have not yet learned the basics of Mormon beliefs, but you come on here with hate speech against Mormons.
Again, you have your loyalities, and if I were to completely refute you, you would have to break those loyalties.
I know you won't do that, so why bother? You tell me.
Could anyone ever change your mind about Mormons?
If I could completely refute your claims, would you change your mind about Mormons? Would you tell your preacher he is misleading his congregation?
Would you?
You don't need to believe certain aspects of doctrine to be a Christian. Remember, all you have to do is, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and ye shall be saved." No more and no less. Mormons do that. Any extra stuff about where exactly Jesus is going to come back to earth in the End Times is irrelevant.
By the way, they do not believe that Jesus was "just a man." They believe He is the Son of God, their Saviour and Redeemer, Who will come again in glory to judge both the quick and the dead. That's a far cry from "just a man." Well, He did live as a man for awhile; that's indisputable.
The fact is that the precise nature of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is beyond our feeble human comprehension. A lot of people through the centuries have tried different ways to explain and deal with it. Anybody who understands it differently tends to be branded a heretic and burned at the stake. From God's perspective, this may be unwise. We who thing we understand with our limited human brains may not know everything. Just a word to the wise.
We should not try to judge Mitt Romney's relationship with Christ as only Christ can do that. It might be just a little venturesome to say whether he's a Christian or not. Christ Who hears his prayers might feel that's not our job.
I am a wretched sinner, unworthy of any mercy except insofar as my Saviour has bought it for me with His blood. I just try to recall, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." --W.S.
"Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was the Creator, He is our Savior, and He will be our Judge. Under the direction of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ created the earth (John 1:10; Hebrews 1:2).
"When Jesus lived on the earth (approximately 2,000 years ago), He led a perfect life. He taught by word and example how people should live in love of God and others.
"Through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and by giving His life on the crossthat is, by performing the AtonementJesus Christ saves us from our sins (1 Peter 2:21) as we follow Him. Because of the Atonement, you can be forgiven of your sins when you sincerely repent (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 26:30).
"Through His Resurrection, Jesus Christ saved us from death. Because He overcame death, we will all be given the gift of resurrection (Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:22). When life on this earth is over, Jesus Christ will be the final Judge (Acts 17:31; John 5:2122; Acts 10:42)."
I can find nothing exceptionable in this, can you? I don't agree with other aspects of the LDS faith--for instance, the idea that Jesus came to America to preach after His death and resurrection--but what the heck. That doesn't alter their basic identity as Christian believers.
It's very difficult to understand how a man who believes these fundamental tenets of Christianity could be worse as a candidate than a man who has supported gay marriage, gun control, and partial-birth abortion.
LOL! that is what this charade of religious and moral litmus tests is becoming.
i want liberty and justice - no more, no less
Who's Romney's Rove? Maybe I've been watching too many movies, but it also could have been a plant by Romney's staff to make him look good. Either way, it worked.
Would a bit of the 'W' stutter, sputter, and mispronunciation make him more real? Just because one is eloquent, calm, witty, and well-spoken doesn't mean one is phony.
And of course you have proof the guy is a plant???? I assume you just forgot to present it???
I'm serious!
I don't ever recall any mention of it when George Romney was the governor of Michigan.
1. Abr. 3: 3-4, 9, 16 3 And the Lord said unto me: These are the governing ones; and the name of the great one is aKolob, because it is near unto me, for I am the Lord thy God: I have set this one to govern all those which belong to the same order as that upon which thou standest. 4 And the Lord said unto me, by the Urim and Thummim, that Kolob was after the manner of the Lord, according to its atimes and seasons in the revolutions thereof; that one revolution was a b day unto the Lord, after his manner of reckoning, it being one thousand c years according to the time appointed unto that whereon thou standest. This is the reckoning of the Lords d time, according to the reckoning of Kolob. 9 And thus there shall be the reckoning of the time of one a planet above another, until thou come nigh unto Kolob, which Kolob is after the reckoning of the Lords time; which Kolob is set nigh unto the throne of God, to govern all those planets which belong to the same border as that upon which thou standest. 16 If a two things exist, and there be one above the other, there shall be greater things above them; therefore b Kolob is the greatest of all the Kokaubeam that thou hast seen, because it is nearest unto me. 2. Abr. 5: 13 13 But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the time that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. Now I, Abraham, saw that it was after the Lords a time, which was after the time of b Kolob; for as yet the Gods had not appointed unto Adam his reckoning.

Oh. Wow, that's kind of bizarre, isn't it. Well, this may be why I'm in no danger of becoming a Mormon.
Nonetheless, I still think a guy who considers Jesus his personal Lord and Saviour is better than a guy who favors partial-birth abortion, gun control, and gay marriage. If I can't have Newt Gingrich or Duncan Hunter I'll have to compromise somewhere.
If he walks like a plant. And talks like a plant....
Besides there is no logical reason to try to derail Mitt. Most of the US is biased against both Mormons and people from Massachusetts. And most conservatives are biased against rino's.
This would be a bigger story if a heckler tried to go after Rudy or McCain.
I said proof sir. Sounds more like you don't like him and make up an explaination to match that feeling. You have a right to support who you want but it would be nice if you dealt in facts (which you presented NONE) than your made up version.
If only and we wouldn't be having this drama over which former social liberal to pick... sigh....
Your request for proof is simply idiotic. I can't prove that he's a plant and I can't prove that you are ugly. But somehow I have a very strong suspician that I am right.
And I'm sure that people who know you and/or Mr. Plant could confirm it for all of us.
You wrote: "...it would be nice if you dealt in facts."
Somehow I doubt that you can handle the facts.
Fact 1: In Federal elections the democrats have not had a stronger, more reliable electoral anchor in the last 20 years then Massachusetts!
Romney might lose MA by 10% instead of 20%. Excellent! We really need a candidate who gets 'Gored' in his home state.
Fact 2: People are prejudiced. They might tell you they're not. But then again people lie. Some people are prejudiced against Mormons.
If 3% of GOP voters are prejudiced against Mormons, they may stay home, vote 3rd party or (gasp) vote for Hillary.
Losing 3% in a close election would spell defeat. If you didn't notice, the last two presidential elections were pretty close.
Fact 3: Nominating Romney will help him win in Idaho and Utah. Not that the GOP needs any help winning in those states. Idaho and Utah are the electoral, polar opposite of Massachusetts.
So there you have it toots. I am opposed to Romney because I want someone who is both conservative and can win. Romney fails on both counts.
