Unless Romney turns out to have a Mark Foley problem, he is looking like a decent compromise candidate between the Giuliani haters and the McCain haters

On paper Romney looks good and obviously is quite telegenic. However, I think the LDS factor will really (unfairly) hurt him in a national campaign.

Yeah I know. Which is ironic because Mormons are almost always more religious than other Christians. I've heard of lapsed Catholics and liberal Protestants. I've never heard of a lapsed Mormon.
