Six college students were arrested Friday during an anti-war protest at the local office of a congressman.
The students sat inside the Chapel Hill office of Democratic U.S. Rep. David Price, demanding to speak with Price over the phone. The protesters want Price to vote to cutoff funding for the war in Iraq.
When they refused to leave, Chapel Hill police carried the students out of the office and charged each one with trespassing.
Five are students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, while the sixth student attends North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
Price, a former Duke University professor, is serving his 10th term representing the 4th District, a largely suburban area encompassing Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.
Oh, wow! They're going to be heroes on their campuses and get laid and get all the best dope and... Wait a minute... What decade is this? Oh. Never mind.
The Summer of Love is over. Now the Flower Children are more interested in Sex Drugs and Geritol.
Losers
In this Decade; truly Forward Looking Democrats would fund Burkas for all female Students with Federal Loans, and any women living in Public Housing. They would end Federal Dollars for Pig Farming or Butchering. They would fund only ASPCA dog extermination sites.
"The protesters want Price to vote to cutoff funding for the war in Iraq.".
The correct version is this: "The protesters DEMANDED Price to vote to cutoff funding for the war in Iraq.
Obviously.
Some of these same students did this in October 2002, were arrested, and the charges were dismissed.
Look at David Price's vote. Maybe he pays the students to do this.

Disapproving of the decision of the President announced on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq
Price voted with the Dems.
Here's the link about the 2002 charges being dismissed:

HILLSBOROUGH -- Sascha Bollag and Anna DeWitt, two UNC freshmen arrested a month ago for refusing to leave a U.S. congressman's office, arrived at court Monday ready to plead their case only to have their trespassing charges dismissed.
But Bollag said Monday's court appearance was a disappointment despite the fact that he and others were not penalized for continuing to protest war with Iraq after being asked to leave the Chapel Hill office of Rep. David Price, D-N.C.
Bollag -- along with two other defendants facing the same trespassing charges stemming from their refusal to leave Price's office until 7 p.m. Oct. 8 -- said he came to court after weeks of legal preparation ready to defend himself and his views on war with Iraq in front of the hundreds gathered.
But the dismissal denied them that chance, Bollag said.
Al McSurely, a lawyer from Durham and a self-declared activist, represented Bollag, DeWitt and the third protester, Chatham County resident Lenore Yarger.
"We were going to do a defense today on the grounds of the lesser of two evils," McSurely told the group after it gathered outside.
"They were breaking a minor law to prevent President Bush from going to war with Iraq."
Price spokeswoman Bridget Lowell said the congressman never intended to press charges against the protesters.
"It wasn't our decision to bring those charges against them," she said.
But Bollag said that although he is disappointed he could not defend his views on the stand, he is happy his actions might inspire activism in the future.
Imagine the smell in the back of that police car.
The attorney Al McSurely:

(I don't think they got the date right ; )
"Barber's comments followed a breakdown of the case by NAACP lawyer Al McSurely, who characterized District Attorney Mike Nifong as an "honest" public servant, and the accused members of the lacrosse team as "white boys mainly from the North who started drinking beer at 2 p.m.""
And, even now, in light of more facts, the NC naacp pretends it only wanted "real" justice all along.
Barber, as well as his "others" are real pieces of work. I've seen the conman Barber on TV a number of times. He's a black prototype of Elmer Gantry. I guess this means the "playing field has been leveled"? lol. One in a novel, and the other in real time.
No one who spends time with the members of our Armed Forces can fail to be impressed by the dedication and valor with which they carry out their duty. Mr. "Price" just chose not to articulate that they are too stupid to know whether what they do has any meaning. ~~
I urge my colleagues to consider H.R. 645, which I believe offers the best way to pursue American national security interests in Iraq.
Let me close on a note of caution. The resolution we are debating here today is necessary, but it is not sufficient. The President should hear our message, which expresses the conviction of the majority of the American people: the time to end our occupation of Iraq has come. However, if he does not take steps to bring our troops home, the President should be under no illusion that this non-binding resolution exhausts Congresss role. Rather, it is a first step in holding him accountable and reversing a failed policy that has made our nation less safe, and cost us so dearly in blood and treasure.
Leftist double talk. His voters are the dumb ones. Not our troops.
