This illustrates why all the fol-de-rol security crap before you get on a plane irritates me so badly. Nobody is likely to ever again successfully hijack an airplane. Everybody now knows the drill.
Many other crimes could be virtually wiped out by the same method if the authorities would can the "Give them what they want so they won't hurt you" garbage.

no, the way to deal with hijackers would be to get them on the ground and either crush their face until there was nothing left or rip their throat out with your bare hands.

Yeah, they'll never hijack another plane. They'll just start shooting them down with surface-to-air missiles. You could stand in the back yard of any of the thousands of little houses near O'Hare or JFK, shoot down a plane landing, a plane on approach, and a plane taking off, jump in a car, and be gone before the first wreckage hits the ground. That's what I'm afraid of, not the hijackings.
