TAMPA - Sami Al-Arian, the former University of South Florida professor sentenced to prison for providing assistance to a terrorist group, collapsed Wednesday in a Virginia prison on the 23rd day of a hunger strike.
He was taken to a North Carolina medical facility.
He began his hunger strike after learning his sentence may be extended by up to 18 months for refusing to testify before a Virginia grand jury.

Don't be too sure it's not all just an act. There was an instance of a bunch of Muzzies in prison supposedly on a hunger strike. Turned out their fellow inmates were smuggling them food and they were actually pigging out at night when no one was watching.
Someone should send him Peter Pan peanut butter.
Aa I understand it, he has been taking supplements to ensure that he doesn't die. If he isn't willing to starve himself to death, then he just isn't committed enough. He should try harder.
....28 days without food. What a sissy. If he were really serious he would have taught the man a lesson by now and been dead.
