Iraq PM tells Bush of 'dazzling successes' in Baghdad

Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has told US President George W. Bush by videolink that the first few days of their countries' joint security plan in Baghdad had been a great success.

"He told President Bush that the security plan had seen dazzling success during its first days and that the government will deal with every outlaw in a firm manner whatever group they belong to," according to his office on Friday.

Some Sunni Iraqis fear their Shiite prime minister might use the security plan as a cover to advance his own group's interests, but Maliki denies this, and cited the example of aid he said he was giving Sunnis in western Iraq.

"He said the sheikhs of the tribes in Anbar Province play a very important role in the hunt for Al-Qaeda and that the government will supply all kinds of support to these tribes and start reconstruction efforts," his office said.

Exactly who all the people were that made you want to 'PUKE'? I looked back over the posts and cant find who the heck you could be talking about. Are you ok? Everyone seems to be optimistic about the results of the surge. Some are a little hesitant to take the news to mean the war is over. Do you think the surge is 100% guaranteed to bring about total victory? How about this quote from the article:

"Gen Fil said their quality was growing every day. But privately, US and British forces who have trained the troops are concerned about the Iraqis' ability to do the job. "

Gosh, sounds like they are 'being realistic'. How about this quote:

"Maj Gen Joseph Fil, said: 'There's an air of suspense throughout the city... Many of these extremists are laying low and watching us to see what we do and how we do it.'"

Wow, the general thinks there is a reduction in violence because the of what the terrorists have decided to do, not on because the military is killing them. You had better flame the general for being such a pansy.

The DemocRATS better hurry up and try to make a defeat certain before it is too late.

You know they're hoping for a disaster in Iraq, which would be a disaster for the middle east and the world in general. Especially the US.

And guess what, they will be saddled with the awful consequences if they get the White House and Congress.
