By obscuring part of a front license plate, this bumper-mounted toll road tag could be violating state law.
This is a stupid law. I don't think a single State Trooper, or any person in the US, would have a problem identifying which state this plate is from, since it has the red shape of our state in the center.

Florida has that same law. Many people don't even know it!.......

This is a stupid law.One of many "stupid" laws. Not often enforced. They are not for the purpose of protecting people. Their only purpose is to allow police to stop people when there is no other obvious reason.

Renewal stickers are on the front windshield, driver's side and above the annual safety inspection sticker.

Texas hasn't used rear plate stickers for passenger cars and light trucks for years. Plate stickers are still used for motorcycles, travel trailers, and various other style of small trailers, which have a single rear plate. The registration sticker goes inside the windshield on the left hand side.
To: Arrowhead1952
And the registration "stickers" are actually paper with a semi-sticky border and backing. You are almost guaranteed to get your fingerprints or debris on the sticky part which makes it look less than desirable on your windshield.

I heard on the news last evening that the problem with these frames is that they obstructed some of the lettering. The cameras set up to read the plate of 'red light runners' was not getting a good view of the plates. Some people admitted they put this on their car so the camera couldn't catch them. Why can't people just obey the law. I have more things to do than worry about a frame around my license plate. As soon as I heard it was against the law, off it come.

I took off the frames too. Some people think they can disobey laws, just because they may get by with a violation.

Usually on the rear plate.Wrong. Lower left windshield. Above the inspection sticker, well below the toll tag.
