A long editorial of which I have excerpted only a small amount. The editorial is done by the Senior Editor of the New Republic. It demonstrates some liberals still are capable of reason.

My take on this whole thing is as you stated. It's a chance for them to get in front of the camera's. Since it is non-binding, all they had to do was write a letter and send it to the President with all the signatures on it. What they have done now is shut down our Government so they can focus on themselves. Don't they have anything else to do? If not, we don't need them.
