Think about this: The Evangelical Christians rallied behind Ronald Reagan, George Bush and GWB. They even went out and registered millions of new GOP voters in churches for GWB, and he squeaked by in two elections. Now the GOP slaps these same Evangelicals in the face with a liberal Rudy Giuliani and we are expected to automatically support him. It doesn't work that way!

Like you said, how do they think their Christian-bashing strategy is going to work out in the long run?

There view is "where are they going to go?" So it is ok to slam and bash Christian voters, because then you can REALLY bash them when you lose.

......the GOP slaps Evangelicals in the face with liberal Rudy Giuliani and we are expected to automatically support him........

Pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-gun Americans--- straight-shooting loyalists who MADE the party what it is today In fact, this RINO maneuver was predicted years ago by savvy social conservatives.....that RINOS would be hell-bent on throwing social conservatives off the Republican flotilla.

However, one of the most ignorant RINO assumptions is that social conservatives are gonna lay down and play dead while RINOs stampede us out of the Repub party.

Ain't gonna happen.

It is Rudy who should GTH out of our party.....subito.

Here and now---let social conservative Repubs take an oath on the Second Amendment---we are united, and standing strong.

If it had not been for Evangelical conservatives pushing Reagan, and registering a ton of Democrats that could no longer stomach their party (Carter in particular), there would have been no President Ronald Reagan.

Where is Jerry Falwell, when he could really be of some use?

No one has slapped anyone. We're in the early primary season where candidates are announcing their intentions to seek the nomination.

The only way any of those seeking the nomination to get the nod is to win it fair and square in the primary election. If everything you guys keep saying is true, then Rudy has absolutely no chance at all. If as many Republican voters hate him as some FReepers claim, he'll be lucky to pull 10% in the primaries. Surely if Land and everyone else saying exactly the same things Land is saying are correct, a candidate like Hunter is certain to trounce Rudy in the primaries with an unheard of majority.

Funny, I don't hear that confident note from the [[Stop Rudy!]] bunch at all. In fact, I'm seeing the exact opposite. I'm seeing a level of concern that indicates the [[Stop Rudy!]] crowd knows that his chances of winning the primary (fair and square) are better then anyone elses at this juncture. I don't know who you guys think you are fooling, but no one is convinced that Rudy is destined to lose the nomination, not even yourselves.
