ORLANDO, Fla. -- A cold front will move through Central Florida Friday bringing the chance for a hard freeze in many Central Florida counties late Friday and early Saturday morning, according to Local 6 meteorologist Larry Mowry.
Temperatures will be about 10 degrees colder Thursday in Central Florida, but the freezing temperatures will not arrive until late Friday.
"Behind the front is the real, bitterly cold air that will be arriving Friday night into Saturday morning," Mowry said. "All that cold air that is bottled up in the arctic has a lot of free flow over that snow in the southeast part of the country and we are going to tap into the cold air starting today but more so tomorrow."
Temperatures will drop into the 20s in Ocala and Palm Coast. The Villages can expect to see temperatures drop to the mid-20s.
"Many of us will drop below freezing," Mowry said. "In fact, most of us will drop below freezing. There is a good chance we will have a hard freeze."
Most of the coldest weather will be north of Orlando before a slight warm up Sunday, according to the report.
The last freeze in Orlando was Jan. 24, 2003.

Sure, laugh now. We'll all be dead by summer when it's only 62 degrees on Daytona Beach
Funny if the race was called due to ice.
That artic air is moving over my part of the country tonight and tomorrow. High winds and blowing and drifting snow warnings posted this afternoon around 4:30 ET, and expected to last until 8:00 pm ET tomorrow evening. My local weather service said that the artic air is supposed to stall out overhead. Should be interesting to see how things look around here tomorrow.
Cincinnati official low for today was -1F ... a record low for the date. Tonight it's expected to be a few degrees colder which will be another record low for a second day. Global warming is a bitch.
Someone evidently forgot to copy Antarctica on the global warming memo:

Yeah, global warming is Hell.
I hope they have record cold on Oscar night, when Gore is up for an award. I need the laugh.
Al gore says it will be MUCH warmer in only 6 months, and he's now estimating by as much as 95 degrees warmer in some places!!
According to a caller on Rush a couple of days ago, the cold weather in the US IS Global warming--it is all those icebergs breaking off the glaciers and floating south----koolaid alert!
