Both shocks inadvertant?
No just the right side.
Jeff Burton asked to view the shock and bolt which Gordon's team and NASCAR allowed and he is convinced, based on the condtion of the bolt, that it was 100% unintentional.

Hammond showed what "possibly" happened when I was home for lunch. There is an adjustable bracket between the frame and the shock for fine tuning. If it's anchor bolt loosened, there is enough adjustment to cause the drop.
Of course, they could have left the bolt loose intentionally, but I don't think it's a good idea to drop a shock at 190. You can't prove intent on equipment failure, but that does not stop some from trying.

RE: the infraction by the #24
You all seem to be missing the point. The problem was that it used to be "the rules are the rules." Intent never played into their interpretation. If you accidentally broke a rule, you still got punished.
Now NASCAR is saying they can read the minds of the #24 team and read intent. And how do they result in doing this? -- by sending mixed signals. "Yeah, he keeps the win, and is not fined, but he must start at the back."
What?!?! Either it is an infraction or it is not?! Either the #24 won fairly, or the #2 is the winner (God forbid)?!
See, it is not about intent. It is about the rules and their fair application.
At least it used to be. :-/

That wasn't such a great qualifying attempt by the 88. But hopefully they will be good in the race tomorrow. Truck race is on tonight........I will be busy doing screen caps Jr's on QVC. :)
Jr's #8 and Truex's #11 looked good.
I put some rolling pics over at IP. I wish we could put those here.

WCG, thanks! Will have to do some reading.
Are you watching TrackSide?
John force is an absolute nut!!!!
I've never heard the man say more than 10 words, usually in a post race interview.....
Wow - when he was talking about his "baby" being in the funny car...riding around in DW's car, cat in the back seat....great stuff!

Force IS funny...when Elliott Sadler was talking about being on the show, Force said..."If I looked like him, I sure wouldn't be here!"
Elliott Rocks, he's got a good chance to win on Sunday.

I missed him there, but saw him earlier during Busch qualifying. He can talk like Herm, he went for about 6 minutes straight. Ended up saying if he and his daughter had to race each other he would kick her butt or something to that effect. LOL

I think that was one of the best TS's I've seen, really enjoyed it!
ES on the hunting clip, "we do the Dukes of Hazard thing..."
And he's already said, "Nope...no more jumping off the stage!" lol
I would not mind seeing the ex Candyman in Victory Lane, either.

Too funny, talking about when he made his qualifying run, that run knocked his girl out.....
"My wife loves me...she doesn't like me much though. But when I did that to her girl...talk about not being liked!"
And from back in the day....DW gives Force a model of the #11 car....the story: Force was just getting started, to make it short, DW called and asked if they could store DW's #11 car in Force's garage...sure. Then Force, his kids, crew memembers, etc, took turns pushing each other around in DW's car in front of Force's garage, "Look at me, I'm DW. Had my cat, too...in the back seat!"
You should have seen DW laughing!
Good show. and they need to have him back on!
"I'd hit the wall in every turn....I'm so used to going straight!"
ROTF
almost race time!

No, I was not addressing the penalties at all, nor the fact that the car was lower, but the charges of cheating and favoritism. Are you saying they intentionally left the bolt loose?

You need to watch the NHRA a little more. He says more in a 30 second interview and most in 30 minutes. And this is after he gets out of a car that just ran the quarter mile at over 300 mph.
