I know this is probably not plausible, but I'll just put this on the table:

Does our military have the capacity to stop any oil from getting OUT of Iran? (ie. bombing pipelines, stopping tankers, etc.)

Just thought that, if Iran couldn't get the oil OUT of the country, then they couldn't make any money off it.

Just a thought. Comments welcome.

Destroying the oil pipelines is bad for the world. If we do that, it would be years, possibly decades before oil production would return to it's current level. If the Iranian gov't falls, what will be the new gov'ts export? Oil. That would be shooting yourself in the foot before the race even started.
