I have eaten about a half jar of PP Honey Roast with that code on the lid. I wonder how long I have?

I wondered why my PB didn't have a number on the lid. It's Jif, duh!

Hey, what are you guys talking about anyway?

*NONE* of these products, "Skippy", "Peter Pan", "JIF" are real peanut butter. they a just sweetened peanut-flavored Crisco.

You have to work to eat *real* peanut butter since it separates in the jar. Smuckers Crunchy natural peanut butter is *SO* much better than that other stuff.

Of course, I have a grinder and make my own - end up eating it with a spoon straight out of the jar. Make pistachio butter as well every once and a while (expensive).

I have a jar of this 2111 Peter Pan, and it has been opened and used. They may explain why I got sick the other day.

I hardly ever eat PB but I ate some yesterday and I just checked, it starts with 2111. I feel fine, sort of....:-)

Check your peanut butter for 2111 PING!

It's surprising how many FReepers have reported suspect PB. I don't know that any of them are in Texas yet, though.

Thanks for the heads up! After reading this thread I called home and we had three jars in the cabinet that matched those numbers. One had just been finished.

She then told me our 1 year old boy, who eats peanut butter sandwiches daily, has been lying around all morning with a bad case of diarrhea. I hope it's a coincidence, I've had salmonella poisoning before and it's brutal!

Those are the only two brands I buy (Walmart brand-Great Value- is very similiar in taste and texture to Peter Pan)

I will check tonight. A 13 year old boy friend of the family just died this week due to a 'stomach virus'. I wonder.... I need to call his Mama.

BTW, so ConAgra gets to just keep the $15 I gave them when I throw out my peanut butter?

What a Jiff! I mean gyp!

We just tossed an open jar of PP, and swapped three unopened jars at the local Western NY Wegman's for other brands - NQA.

Thank you for posting this. I have two containers of PB with that code. I just ate some last night on some Club crackers and woke up this morning vomiting and I've felt lousy all day. Thanks so much for posting. Very important to know.

I see the Great Value brand in place such as Wal-mart. Are they as good as the brand names? I'm always a little hesitant because I don't know who made the stuff.

Thanks for the information.
