Romney's religion combined with his flip flops is hurting him at the moment. Romney needs to turn off the slick, and get real, and just let it all hang out, with sincerity. If he does that, he will be in the hunt. If not, his deterioration into an asterisk will continue.

Some argue that evangelical voters, a core part of the GOP coalition, will never accept a Mormon candidate as one of their own. I don't know that I would qualify as an Evangelical, but Mitt Romney's profession of reliance upon Jesus as his Lord (in numerous press accounts) is all I need to feel secure in voting for him over some other less committed candidate. I'm extremely pro-life ... I receive his explanation of his pro-life position as reasonable, given my years of efforts to get people to rethink their perspectives in light of the heinous dehumanization achieved in Roe v Wade.

I'm not ridiculing you. You need to look up the term so you'll use it correctly.

The love of Christ was visible for those who wished to see it. Knowing who I am... and placing myself in that time period, I would have believed in Jesus, if I had encountered Him. I feel this way because I know the map of my own heart and what it needs to thrive.

Those who believed Christ was a evil, were not being faithful Jews... if they were faithful, then they would have been Christians. All of the information was right there for them to see. They chose NOT to see. His glory was not hidden, it was not only for the learned to see. All anyone had to do was LOOK.

....I have no disrespect for the LDS religion but many do have problems with some of their tenents and such. They have great conservative and family values and do have many Christian values.....but some of their doctrine are at odds with the other mainstream Christan religions....such as male Mormons of good faith becoming God's of their own world, ...God the father being of flesh as tangible as mans, Joseph Smiths deciphering of the Mormon tablets from General Moroni etc.....(spelling?)....etc....

.....personally I don't care much about that but many do have questions and are fearful of what they don't understand...

Romney's profession of faith is not a Mormon thing ... we have no right to decide whom is Chrisitan and whom is chrisitian ... in the issue of Christian, for those who profess Him as Lord, leave it to the Holy Spirit to settle the issue.

As would I. He is my personal Savior, my redeemer, my friend. I would like to think we have at least that much in common that you can see the faith of others and not mistake it for a cult.

"Is there something more to him that they're really worried about? "

They KNOW if he wins the Republican nomination he can win the presidency. He scares them to death!

I agree with you entirely....but I'm just saying that many in mainstream churches are very suspect of the Mormon faith in general....and you know fear breeds contempt and all other things.....right or wrong.....

WHY DO YOU THINK THE MEDIA IS EVEN MENTIONING MITT IF HE IS "NOT EVEN ON THE RADAR"? Fear is a good thing.

Mitt's religion is of no concern to me whatsoever. I have some other concerns, but at this time I support Mitt above all others for the presidency!

You need to look at your concept of mainstream ... there are many Mormons who are/were Christians before becoming Mormons ... I have close, intimate expereince with same, so this is not a theory with me.

Nothing secret about it. As a matter of fact if you give me your address, I'll have two bright young enthusastic young men in white shirts and ties sent to your house. They will answer all your questions and even give you tons of free literature including a Book of Mormon.

What is so secret about that?
