Didn't a former Redskin player also come out. An end that played for them?? I forget his name.

ESPN spent all morning on this and aired LeBatard's interview no less than 5 times in the 30 minutes it took me to get to work this morning.

Congratulations to Amaechi for stirring up this non-controversy so he can sell his book which is published by OH look at that, ESPN.

If Amaechi wanted to be a trailblazer and actually do something that would make a difference for people like him in the future he should have come out while he was still playing. Why is everyone acting like he's a hero for coming out at this point in time?

As for Hardaway, he's an idiot plain and simple. He fed the media a big red bloody piece of meat and all the ESPN piranhas will attack it until there's nothing left. Never mind that it was just a guy speaking candidly and giving an interviewer something other than the canned, robotic responses we are accustomed to in this day & age. He told us how he really feels and now he's gonna get blasted for it.

If he'd said he hated pro-family Christians, the liberal media would be praising him! The hypocrisy is unbearable.

David Stern has apparently banned him from league-related appearances because he doesn't represent "their" viewpoints. I f their position is if one thinks homosexuality is a perverted act, that person out of compliance. Good. I've just banned myself from those overpriced games.

A PHOBIA is not a hatred.

A phobia is a FEAR.

It's just a conspiracy to get me to take an interest in the NBA again.

I think Hardaway's only "sin" is publicly voicing what I daresay many people actually believe.

Would a woman be publicy crucified if she said she wouldn't want men in her locker room? Let's assume not, as society has deemed it not appropriate for men and women to share a common locker room.

That begs the question: why does society enforce this separation? Its to keep the sexes apart, of course, and to provide privacy to the opposite sexes.

Is it no less a privacy concern that heterosexual males feel that same discomfort sharing a locker room with homosexual males?

Let's turn it around: gay males say straights should not worry because they (gays) won't make passes at them in the locker room. If a straight man used that as a reason to share a locker room with a female, I suspect he wouldn't get very far.

So, while its not politically correct to voice such opinions, and even called gay-bashing, I think its actually a double-standard on the part of society that men and women are kept apart, for whatever reason, but those same reasons can't be used to keep straight & gay men apart.

What if he had said he hates perversion? If someone said, "I hate perverts", would that be a big deal? I'm with him on this.
