Jimmy Carter ...is now in Ethiopia passing out insecticide treated mosquito nets oblivious to what is going on at Brandeis.
To: AmericanMade1776
The 95 Thousand spent on Jimmy Carter speaking at Brandeis will buy a lot of insecticide for Ethopia

Yes. Now if they would all--and the faculty along with them--repudiate and abandon the entire Democrat Party (and not just Jimmy Carter), we'd know we were in the upswing.

Once again, Jews show Catholics how it is done. There has never been a similar reaction BY DONORS to the innumerable Catholic colleges which have showered honors on pro-aborts.

Nevertheless, the free-speech controversies seemed to pit Brandeis commitment to maintaining its status as a top-tier, non-sectarian university with all the expectations of untrammeled discourse this brings against its determination to remain, in Reinharzs words, a school under continuous sponsorship by the Jewish community. I'm all for free speech, that's one of the reasons I've worn the military uniform for over 27 years... To make sure that nobody takes that away from anyone. However with free speech come responsibility for what you say, and you don't insult major donors and expect them fork over the big bucks as if nothing happened.

Well, we know this is all just a silly little lie and that the school doesn't care, because we've all been told that boycotting doesn't work.
There are many who care nothing about what you say, but bow down and worship the opinion of your wallet.

Good for them. Hitting lefty organizations in the pocket works. My alma mater suffered a similar hit when the students booked Michael Moore. When the U called me up for the annual donation, I explained how I wouldn't be giving them a dime that year because of the Moore event. I explained that the U was free to provide a forum to anyone they liked, and I was free to not subsidize their actions. I wasn't the only one to withold donations--the U reported that that stunt cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars.

After his dis-service to the Nation, Bubba Clintoon was invited to speak to a gathering of officers and major shareholders of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, with a serious remuneration of course. (circa 1992)
During the following week, MSDW lost 1/3 of its market capitalization as people with brains ran from the scum ridden ship.
