Jimmy Carter ...is now in Ethiopia passing out insecticide treated mosquito nets oblivious to what is going on at Brandeis.
To: AmericanMade1776
The 95 Thousand spent on Jimmy Carter speaking at Brandeis will buy a lot of insecticide for Ethopia

Yes an activism by Brandeis Alumni , that Freepers understand. It works!
To: AmericanMade1776
Yes. Now if they would all--and the faculty along with them--repudiate and abandon the entire Democrat Party (and not just Jimmy Carter), we'd know we were in the upswing.

Once again, Jews show Catholics how it is done. There has never been a similar reaction BY DONORS to the innumerable Catholic colleges which have showered honors on pro-aborts.

you know why jimmy is acting out?
>>> carter's responsible for the mess in iran.
yes, the shah was a "bad guy", but he was OUR bad guy. his son should have assumed the throne.

At least the Brandeis Donors recognize that Jimmy Carter to be threat to them personally.
To: everyone
Definitely a positive step. But I wonder where these vigilant people were when Yale enrolled a student who was a spokesman for the Taliban. I don't have much respect for folks who eagerly police anti-Israel rhetoric like Carter's, but care enough to do, or say, anything similar about any related issue. As long as it doesn't directly concern Israel, it's OK, or not really of interest.

Jimmy Carter not only lust in his heart, he hates in his heart and seeks revenge in his heart.

I am condemning people "who DON'T care enough to do, or say, anything similar about any related issue."

I thought I read that it cost Brandeis about $75thousand for security for Carter.

Nevertheless, the free-speech controversies seemed to pit Brandeis commitment to maintaining its status as a top-tier, non-sectarian university with all the expectations of untrammeled discourse this brings against its determination to remain, in Reinharzs words, a school under continuous sponsorship by the Jewish community. I'm all for free speech, that's one of the reasons I've worn the military uniform for over 27 years... To make sure that nobody takes that away from anyone. However with free speech come responsibility for what you say, and you don't insult major donors and expect them fork over the big bucks as if nothing happened.

I beg to differ. The Shah of Iran was NO BAD GUY.
The Shah was authoritarian, but he was no demon the way carter and his leftist media portrayed him to the uninformed public.
Now, was it necessary for the Shah to be so authoritarian? History will judge that, but perhaps today people have a better understanding of what it was to run that country with all those perfidious mollas - PLUS Commie mercenaries - running around???

Really. What's with all the darned ? in that story?A minor mechanical translation issue. It probably had "extended ASCII" characters for double-dashes, reverse-quotes, etc.

Well, we know this is all just a silly little lie and that the school doesn't care, because we've all been told that boycotting doesn't work.
There are many who care nothing about what you say, but bow down and worship the opinion of your wallet.
