I live in IL, and I am an active member of two grassroots Conservative organizations, one Pro-Family, one Pro-Gun.

There is already an active movement among many of us prepared to back a Third Party candidate if Rudy wins the nod. Names mentioned, some (but not all) of whom have already expressed interest: Alan Keyes, Gary Bauer, Bob Smith, Pat Buchanan,....just to name a few. It will be someone who essentially takes votes away from Rudy Giuliani EXCLUSIVELY.

This is why it's going to have to be someone else. Remember, without Pat Buchanan in 2000 - Bush wouldn't have even needed Florida.
