I was a lurker in the 2000 campaign, I remember well. And once I joined, I defended Bush vociferously against all comers on many, many issues, and still do to this day.

I get right back in their faces. Rudy will get the same treatment from the nutjobs, exaggerated and made up crap. But he will also get a full broadside from conservatives adamant that the party not move left. Rudy will face a strong, legitimate challenge from the right spectrum of the party. Not from idjits like Ron Paul or one trick ponies like Tancredo, but from Duncan Hunter, Newt or, if he can convince people he's conservative, Romney.

There is no way to avoid the coming fight for the direction of the party. I hope people keep it realively sane, and I hope the mods cut off anyone spewing too much BS. But the fight must happen, because most conservatives here do not want Guiliani.

FYI Rudy's only opposition to Partial Birth Abortion was any law that did not include the life of the mother but then why would I expect all of you to consider the life of the mother as important!

I've known you for quite a while here PKM, always liked and respected you. Still do. But this is not true. Rudy "modifed" his stance because his advisors told him his heretofore total support for partial birth abortion would be a disqualifier in the primary.
