Olney Needs Your Help On March 17. As of now only one FReeper plans to be at Olney on Saturday the 17. The others will be down in D.C. with the big Protect the Vietnam Wall Rally there. If you are not attending the D.C. Rally and can help in Olney, please FReepmail me. We are also checking on some locals to be there.
For the Jan. 27 Rally in D.C., all the moonbats deserted their corner and we were unopposed. We're hoping for the same, but we don't want to leave our corner vacant.
Also, if you plan to be in D.C. on March 17, please let Just A Nobody know. She is assuming a lot of you will be there, but unless you contact her, we cannot put you on The List. We need a near definite number for planning purposes, you know, for the MOAB, props and signs. The more the merrier.
More importantly, the list is also used to send you up dates as the Rally is organized. That way you don't have to search thru the RESOURCE LINK Report for new info.
Our permitted FReep position will be in close proximity of the Vietnam Wall, so you can be in two places at one time. It is also along the moonbats march route.
March 17 pdf fliers are available. Please print them and hand them out. If you want something to hang on a bulletin board, just print out Page 2.
Protecting the WWII and Korean War Memorials is also in the mix. If the moonbats can't vandalise the Wall, they may go else where. The Wall though is primary since the idiot moonbats started hating America during the Vietnam era. They also want to use the Wall as their back drop.
Our plans have already had an impact on ANSWER's plans. They are disavowing any vandalism and they are saying the don't want to disrespect anyone visiting the Wall. They really are full of BS!!
NOW THE OLNEY FREEP REPORT
Jeez, it was another bitter cold, windy FReep in Olney. Temps in the mid-20s with a bad wind chill. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. This time though the wind was coming in from the north, to our sides, so we were able to turn our heads slightly to keep the wind out of our faces.
The wind WAS in the moonbats' faces though. Hee, Hee, Haa, Haa, Haahaahaa Sorry.
We also had enough FReepers and Lurkers (11) to occupy two corners once again. FReepers and Lurkers included: Apple Blossom & daughter, BMWcyle (BMW) & daughter, BufordP, Cindy-True_Supporter (CTS), Kristinn, iMacMan, (iMM) Lurker Bill (aka Lurker Bill from MD on Walter Reed AARs), Olney-Keith (O-K), [Mrs] Trooprally, ([Mrs] T) and myself.
Months ago, Olney-Keith stopped by Olney to talk with us. He soon became a regular lurker at Walter Reed but his schedule didn't allow him to make it to Olney. Well his schedule had an opening this week and he finally came back to his beginnings, as a FReeper. We welcome newbie FReeper Olney-Keith to Olney. Hopefully his schedule will allow him to stop by again.
Pics are by iMacMan and [Mrs] T. [Mrs] T is back from a severe cold/bronchitis. The cold weather and wind still got to her quickly, but after 3 weeks of not being out, she figured she missed enough of the fun. Pics are not individually identified due to this author's time constraints.
BELOW LEFT: Kristinn holding sign as others start setting up. One great thing about having lots of FReepers here and at Walter Reed is that while some are setting up, others can get a jump on holding signs. In January when Kristinn was last out with us, he had shorts on. Not today!!BELOW RIGHT: iMacMan, myself and BMW erecting the first of three banners.
BELOW LEFT: Kristinn joined by BufordP. iMacMan is tying down banner cause of the wind. BELOW RIGHT: Apple Blossom's daughter, "Is it time to FReep yet?"
BELOW LEFT: [Mrs] T is baaack!! Looking warmer than she really is. BELOW RIGHT: [Mrs] T and ever faithful camera in tow.
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill and BMW's daughter. I got confused until [Mrs] T informed me that both daughters had on the same color coat and held the same signs. Great families think alike! BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill waving to passing car. No short sleeves today.
BELOW LEFT: BufordP bundled up. BELOW RIGHT: Apple Blossom and [Mrs] T. Blue banner billowing and flags unfurled.
BELOW LEFT: BMW, BufordP and Kristinn, the "Charmed Ones". BELOW RIGHT: Apple Blossom's daughter and iMacMan.
BELOW: Kristinn and ever faithful, CTS.
BELOW: O-K and I occupied the southeast corner. This corner is the second best corner to be on. Our signs are what drivers see first heading north on Georgia Avenue, before they drive past the moonbats.
And we got plenty of honks, thumbs up and even a salute. O-K was truly surprised at the amount of support we received. At Walter Reed, when it is dark out, one can't always see people waving or giving the thumbs up.
What was also great, was hearing all the honks for our other corner. I mean there were times where 5 or 6 cars went passed the southwest corner, honking away. It has got to be demoralizing for the moonbats to hear that every Saturday. We have comments from three people that a lot of the moonbats honks are actually to get their attention, just to be flipped the bird or to be yelled at. So iMacMan's titling of the moonbats as "THE GRUMPIES" is fitting.
Speaking of the Grumpies, here they are.
BELOW: [Mrs] T feeling well enough to do some photoshopping.
BELOW: iMacMan's photoshopping. He only had to change their sign saying for this pic. Peek A Boo, on far left, comes late and leaves early. Kind of like Barking Waveman's exploits.
BELOW: "Tim the Troll Man", aka the ex-freeper, taking pics of us. Why is he wasting his time. We show enough pics of ourselves on these AARs that all he has to do is copy/paste them.
But enough of the moonbats. How about some of iMacMan's great pics of support from passing motorists?
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney See Post 39 Here. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to a FReeper FRiend for enhancing the original plain type directions.
The Archive of Olney FReeps is here or in the LINKS section of Trooprally's ABOUT Page.
[Mr] & [Mrs] T
snow is not a problem, it is the ice that is forecast. I hope to be doing a lot of work in the near future. Unfortunately removing storm damaged trees does not bring in long term clients.
Be careful out there removing them limbs and stay warm.
[Mr] T
I intend to stay warm, and join you in Olney this weekend.
Great report Mr T .
It was pretty Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr out there!!
[Mrs T]
Great. See you Saturday if not first at Walter Reed.
Excellent report.
How is all the snow up there?
Schools closed, etc.
Supermarkets, you know the routine.
All 13 (wowee) flights out of HIA are on hold.
Me, I have 3 cases of beer, ribs in the crock pot and wood in the fireplace. Life is good. Hope to see you soon.
Thanks - and all we got is a fire in the fire place. We must be doing something wrong.
[Mr] T
This one made my day. Great job, Olney FReeps!
Sounds like a good time. I'll be right over! (Wish I could!)
We got a lot more salutes this week, not just waves, but sadly, I also saw a lot more "thumbs down" from cars that passed us. I think the salutes outnumbered them 4-3. We still get a lot of honking, waving, thumbs up, and either flashing lights or a short siren from law enforcement vehicles.
All morale builders!
But, the honks we got compared to the moonbats was far more rewarding. I think I heard 3 honks!!
(Mrs T)
When I was younger and had a Studebaker Commander, I did they same. Boy, that car was built like a tank.
Has it warmed up yet in your part of the woods?
