Theodore Olson, the stalwart conservative lawyer and former solicitor general for the Bush administration, told the Spectator he will be supporting Rudy Giuliani's presidential bid.
"I admire his character, his capacity for leadership, his instincts, and his principles," Olson said over the phone this afternoon. He said he will help Giuliani raise money as well as offer advice on legal issues and domestic policy matters that involve constitutional questions.

I don't think it is hysterics to find fault with Rudy.I don't, either.
But that's not what I said. By "the anti-Giuliani hysterics" I was referring to the posters who are unhinged with RDS: Rudy Derangement Syndrome.
I agree with your approach.

"...perhaps he is simply in the dark about who else is running." You mean all those who cannot get above 1% in the polls? That "dark" is way too deep for those "lights" to get through.

I know who Ted Olson is - but most of USA doesn't
I am still a fan of Barbara's - just like RR had my vote from the first time I heard his radio show
I'm not casting a vote out of fear
There are plenty of republicans who care about those who are oppressed and murdered
this isn't just about personal protection
If it was I'd go along and get along quite well
just like rudy

Not it is not! I support Rudy because I like his stance on issues that are important to me like the WOT. I was supporting Sen George Allen and when he was defeated I went to Rudy after studying the other candidates.
I didn't like McCain in 2000 and still don't but if he were the nominee, I would vote for him. I just believe that Rudy has the strength and demeanor to be President while I do not believe McCain has the demeanor.

The basis for winning those primaries is being done NOW. Hunter is getting no traction to establish that basis. February 2008 is closer than you are willing to admit. There is not enough time to pull someone, anyone, from obscurity to prominence.

Howie Dean did it, then choked. Jimmuh Carter did it. Sick Willie did it. The MSM made empty suit "ears" Obama a frontrunner in the course of 3 weeks. Sorry, the game is not the same anymore.

That's before they front-loaded the primaries....now CA...PA ...FLA...IL will have as big of say as NC or NH. Huge differance.

Are you serious? President Reagan was in the movies, was two term Governor of California, and ran for President in 1976. He was not someone that was not well known. In fact, he was one of our better known candidates to run for office of President.

"Why else would these same Rudy supporters not invest their time and energy in getting a true Conservative like Hunter elected? It makes zero sense. Rudy is 90 percent Liberal and maybe 10 percent Conservative." Two lies for the price of one.
Hunter has ZERO chance of getting elected though almost everyone supportive of Guiliani says they would vote for Hunter should a miracle happen and he win the nomination.
What makes "zero sense" is flacking someone with NO chance of getting the nomination much less the election.
Rudy is a moderate conservative NOT a liberal. He will be endorsed by Hunter after he drops out before six months pass. Then what will you say?

Actually no he's someone who lost his spouse in 9/11 and i remind you this board and conservatism lost a good friend in Barb! And now he's selling out to the most liberal Republican presidential candidate in the history of the known universe. I admired Ted Olson right up until he sold out.
