There are countless conservatives that--no matter how many positives Rudy may have--will never get beyond his so-called "pro-choice" and "pro-gay" positions.

The people you speak of really aren't conservatives. If they were, they would know that the President is supposed to have as much to do with the legality of abortion as he does with the use of instant replay in the NFL. People who expect to elect a President who is going to come along and end abortion in the United States are hoping for some sort of dictator.

BTW, I believe abortion is murder. Presidents do not ()or should not) have anything to do with murder laws either.

Thanks for your realistic perspective. It seems almost out of place for some reason.

Obviously, the President does not operate in a vacuum. He does, however, make appointments to the various courts and Congress drafts laws that he either signs or vetoes. The purpose of government is to protect the rights of the individual against infringement by other parties. It's difficult to believe someone who is in favor of allowing a woman to kill her unborn child, who has committed no crime, is actually serious about protecting individual rights.

We're quite aware that the POTUS shouldn't make laws regarding abortion. We are also aware that he appoints SCOTUS nominees, who have usurped the powers of the legislative branch. We don't trust Rudy to nominate the next Clarence Thomas.
