Hey, that's no parody! It's happening. Check out this website. It's Obama's church- really!

http://www.tucc.org/about.htm

Two major barriers to better race relations in this country are black racism against whites and people who benefit from maintaining racial discord.

the college application process was surprising, confusing, blatantly unfair, racist and most of all, embittering.<./I>

I believe it is deliberately designed to do just that, embitter and divide people. And as AppyPappy mentioned about EVIL. Folks EVIL is afoot, and fuzzy-headed (lazy) thinking allows it to multiply. Kudos to the author of the piece, she received more of an education than she bargained for. I just hope instead of being embittered, she is empowered to be a leader for constructive change in our society, before we arrive at the PONR.

WHOA!

I could see where people would be upset by this.
Sometimes it is nice to live in MI.

These ivory-tower educators, who profess that salvation hinges on education, should be reminded that the most educated society in the history of mankind was Nazi Germany.
I would rather have a stupid tyrant in power than a brilliant one.

I've read a lot of "Opus" posts here at FR but never one as good as the one she just gave Tuffs. One of the joys of being a senior. You can finally laugh and ridicule the BS you used to have to grit your teeth and tolerate as part of the paper chase.

She's railing against diversity and majoring in Spanish. Oh the irony.

What irony? A second language can be very useful in the business world.

"At one of these chats, I came up with an idea for how to make the school more racially integrated. Thinking my idea was fairly straight-forward and rather brilliant, I suggested getting rid of race houses. I don't think people around here would feel so thrilled about a white, male Protestant house on Professor's Row, so maybe some people feel that way about an African-American house."

I like to run the facts back and forth, to see if they're racist. She is showing the same thing here.

Take your daughter to work day ALSO MEANS leave your son at home day.

When Shirley wants to go work out at a Curves, a female only facility, how would she feel if the Brent had his male only place called Buff?
Didn't we just come from there and the females claimed discrimination and filed for admission to all male places /schools/ clubs / sports/ scholarships?
How ironic that they return with the exact same, but opposite trait, and expect a pass?

Everyone wants it to be equal but that's not what they really mean.

If we run the facts both ways and they're racist, sexist and/or bigoted one way, why aren't they the same when you run them back the other way?

I don't get it either Ashley.

"What irony? A second language can be very useful in the business world."

Yes, a second language is good in the business world. But this young gal ought to hope that her printed words won't come back to haunt her. She will need to practice diversity or she's not going anywhere in this PC world.

Sometimes it is nice to live in MI.

You have your own problems with a different ethnic group, one that does not want to be accepted or assimilated, but instead espouses become Islam or else...

"What, exactly, will it take to recognize people based on the content of the character, and not on the color of their skin?"

Blindness.

She sure is.

How sad that these days it takes courage to speak out or express one's opinion if different from the Thought Police.

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Hey, teacher! Leave those kids alone!

All in all, we're just another brick in the wall

"You need to read the article again."

I'm not sure why. I understand the article. I'll repeat what I said in post 28:

"But this young gal ought to hope that her printed words won't come back to haunt her. She will need to practice diversity or she's not going anywhere in this PC world."

Ahh I did this very thing during the Clinton years in college. I was placed on a panel to be questioned. Being blonde haired and blue-eyed they figured they couldn't lose and corner me into just going their way - WRONG. A question posed to me by an American African was "What would you do about inner city crime and violence?" My reply - "I would give them more guns and various other weapons to kill themselves off faster, and make a profit(with a smile!)".

LOL! And I bet you could have heard a pin drop! :0)

No try this post:
"She's railing against diversity and majoring in Spanish. Oh the irony."

You are assuming that what they do is indeed for the sake of "diversity".

Then every morning, I roll my eyes, shut the Daily and reach for a newspaper from the real world.

That alone shows she is way too smart for a silly place like Tufts.

By the way, my son is now taking his required "race" class at college. After carefully analyzing his choices for fullfilling the "race" class requirement, my son opted for a "race" class on Native Americans, figuring it would be the least unpalatable. Surprise! The "professor" is black (naturally - - these mandatory "race" classes are designed to give employment to people who majored in "African American Studies") and one of the required books for the class was written by that famous "Native American", Ward Churchill.

I kid you not.
