When he is, I'll be heartily amused at yours and others expense.

You might want to think carefully about what it is you're doing. Social conservatives could extract concessions from Rudy in exchange for their support; if they shut the door entirely, in the eventuality that he wins, he will owe them nothing.

One final note - most polls indicate that about 1/3rd of the American electorate identify themselves as conservative or very conservative. Without some moderates, no Republican will be able to win the presidency. Moderates will not be attracted to a candidate who accuses them of apostasy for daring a semblance of disagreement.

Look: there are clearly not enough "real conservatives" in the country to elect a "real conservative" for president. There has to be compromise or that wide-load, big mouthed shrew will be the next president. There they will be in January of '09, her and Old Crusty, with her hand on the NARAL constitution by-laws, taking the oath of office from a Supreme Court Justice who is carrying a barf bag. Bill will, of course, be in attendance; he will be soliciting sexual favors from those in the crowd.
