Bush Aides Like What They See In Guiliani

While the White House is taking a hands-off approach to the 2008 GOP presidential primaries so far, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is quietly seeing an administration cheerleading section grow.

One insider said that it is built on the fact that Giuliani continues to beat Sen. John McCain in the polls and also because he is offering to stick with several Bush programs, including an aggressive stance against terrorists, and promises to name conservative judges to the court. One Bush official today noted Giuliani's pledge to nominate conservative judges and applauded the New Yorker for making that claim in liberal California.

"He didn't back away just because he was in California. In fact, he went there to make that statement. That's a very important signal," said the insider. Interestingly, even White House conservatives are showing support for Giuliani.

"He's the front-runner, and he's doing everything so far very good," said another official. "He isn't bending to what people want to hear. He kind of sounds like Bush did in 2000."

Pres Bush didn't fit it either.

I voted for him twice. He at least was center-right, pro-life and not a gun-grabber. Rudy is far left in the GOP.

That was not an implied threat. If I was going to do something I would do it in public. What I stated is correct, some Freepers with their comments speaking for the owner could cause the owner problems if you don't watch it.

Can you comprehend?

Now I am not posting on any other candidate threads, I know what I have researched long before a particular candidate even came out on a total different matter, but I will not post what I have on any other candidate and you can take that to the bank!

Forget you know me!

That was not an implied threat.

Gee, I can't begin to imagine how this statement:

Mighty fine line being walked right now and some of these Freepers could be getting others in trouble.

Nah, silly me for even thinking that you were making an implied threat.

Now I am not posting on any other candidate threads,

And we thank you for that, given that you were smearing Duncan Hunter with false allegations and refused to retract when informed of such.

Oh, and this will be my last response to you. You have made your bed on FR with two posts on this thread:

I am a Republican and you have no right to judge.

Mighty fine line being walked right now and some of these Freepers could be getting others in trouble.

That and your spreading falsehoods about Duncan Hunter should tell everyone what they need to know about you. My work here is done.

"The majority of those points in #205 aren't relevant to most Americans outside of NYCity. "

Yes, that is true. What is more important is what they are NOT however, and that is the governance of a Liberal on law and order issues, taxes and terrorism.

Well, won't the IRS be glad to hear that? I'm sure Jim Robinson appreciates your pointing that out so he can lose his tax status.

So, Free Republic can come out against Democrats and other liberals and you're fine with that. But when it comes out against Republican liberals like Giuliani, you get your panties all in a wad and make veiled threats about reporting FR to the IRS or FEC!!?

FR and specifically Jim Robinson came out against McCain a few months ago. Did you report him to the IRS or FEC then? Why does Giuliani get your special protection? Why does he make you act so stupid?

We tore the hell out of the Clintons for their liberalism but when some start tearing up some Republicans (like Giuliani) for the same brand of liberalism, you and others get all offended. Now you're making threats. Again, you've surpassed what I ever imagined of how low of an opinion I could have of you. Just damn...

More importantly, NYCity is not the rest of America. Thank God!

When I left my old hometown, it was a high taxed hellhole, run by liberals for liberals. When Rudy left office, NYCity was still a high taxed hellhole, run by liberal, for liberals. 70% of voters in NYCity are registered Democrats. Maybe 20% are Republicans. Rudy did a good job , by NYCity standards. Nothing more. Kudos to Rudy on reducng crime. But as ALL informed New Yorkers know, crime was coming down the last three years of the Dinkins admin. Crime came down under Bloomberg too. That doesn't mean conservatives will vote for David, Michael or Rudy to be the next POTUS.

Oh, and you know very well that FR cannot endorse any candidate.

No, but Free Republic can and has endorsed CONSERVATISM. It works to promote conservatives and conservatism and to defeat liberals and liberalism. How hard is that to understand?

Are you and others here, burned over all the opposition to liberal Rudy here, now preaching the "Fairness Doctrine" for web forums? Should the Democrats get equal time here to start promoting Hillary and Obama?

It gets better. Check out post #264.

Post #288 applies to you as well.

Not only is your campaigning for Rudy working to divide the Republican Party and possibly lead to its destruction, but your open campaigning - and now threats - on Free Republic are doing the same thing here.

also because he is offering to stick with several Bush programs, including an aggressive stance against terrorists, and promises to name conservative judges to the court.

I learned a long time ago to take promises from politicians with a grain of salt. The best barometer for what they will do once elected is what they have done in the past.

I have no doubt that Rudy would be tough on terrorism. I do have doubts about the 'conservative judges' claim. (Of course, conservative is in the eye of the beholder. Likely, what would be conservative in Rudy's eyes would not be conservative in mine.)

Well, then, there shouldn't be any problem with the FEC, then, as some implied.

Maybe you would realize that most Freepers are tired of looking at it? Check all the Rudy threads - that chart has been posted ad nauseum.

Speaking of postings ad nauseum... did it ever occur to you that the anti-Rudies are rankled because there are so many Rudy threads? Here we are two years before the election and no candidate exists besides him!

Posters who imply that they speak for FR, for Jim or for anyone else but themselves, are both totally wrong and totally arrogant and foolish.

In fairness to the Rudy boosters, there ARE a lot of MSM articles about Rudy to post, IMO because the MSM really, REALLY wants him to win the nomination so they can destroy the GOP come the November elections.
