Bush Aides Like What They See In Guiliani

While the White House is taking a hands-off approach to the 2008 GOP presidential primaries so far, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is quietly seeing an administration cheerleading section grow.

One insider said that it is built on the fact that Giuliani continues to beat Sen. John McCain in the polls and also because he is offering to stick with several Bush programs, including an aggressive stance against terrorists, and promises to name conservative judges to the court. One Bush official today noted Giuliani's pledge to nominate conservative judges and applauded the New Yorker for making that claim in liberal California.

"He didn't back away just because he was in California. In fact, he went there to make that statement. That's a very important signal," said the insider. Interestingly, even White House conservatives are showing support for Giuliani.

"He's the front-runner, and he's doing everything so far very good," said another official. "He isn't bending to what people want to hear. He kind of sounds like Bush did in 2000."

Cool! An animated GIF of a snoozing smileyface!

That's show those pesky conservatives! That's the way to respond to a clearly laid out chart showing how Guiliani differs from the GOP platform!

Wow - you're a regular Oliver Wendell Holmes. I bow in your presence....

Rudy tossed Arafat out of a city sponsored celebrations saying, "I would rather not have someone who has been implicated in the murders of Americans there, if I have the discretion not to have him there”.

Obviously, folks like you do NOT truly believe Rudy will go the way of Elizabeth Dole. Otherwise, you wouldn't hop onto so many pro-Rudy threads to voice how much you hate the guy. If he really is doomed, why are you so worried?

Now, now, here I go paying you a compliment, comparing you with the estimable Holmes, and you have to go do that.

Didn't your mama ever teach you to repay a compliment with a compliment?

Sure. I can't really complain about someone stealing stolen property.

Well if you think of the reason why I posted that gif maybe you will notice that its the same chart over and over again. Maybe you would realize that most Freepers are tired of looking at it? Check all the Rudy threads - that chart has been posted ad nauseum.

>>>>>Yah whatever. The fact you didn't even try to address my points speaks volumes about your commitment to the truth.

Your points? You didn't create that list. Another FReeper made up that list. IIRC, it mostly came from an article written Steve Malanga, an associate at the Manhattan Institute. Malanga is also a Rudy-sycophant and a big bore. The majority of those points in #205 aren't relevant to most Americans outside of NYCity. And by NO stretch of the imagination, do those points make Rudy a conservative.

My list of issues will be first and foremost on the minds of conservatives when they vote for the 2008 GOP nominee. Make all the excuses you like for Rudy. It won't make conservatives choose Rudy as the nominee.

Btw, Reagan took photos with thousands of folks, and he appointed lots of people to his administration. Even some liberals like Rudy, moderates like Sandra Day O'Conner, along with libertarians like Jean Kirkpatrick. One picture and 1-2 appointments doesn't lend credence to the idea of Rudy being a conservative. If you think it does, I've got a bridge to sell you in my old hometown.

Glad to have you on the ping list! It is freezing here in OK today with the wind chill -- I am more than ready for summer!

The new quarterback from Michigan that is on campus a semester early as he graduated in December, by all accounts is looking great and doing very well in the weight room. Cannot wait for the Red/White game -- going to be televised on ESPN.

I am a Republican and you have no right to judge. If that is the case then all articles pertaining to Hillary, Obama, and anothing not conservative should be pulled.

BTW, I read your posts in 2000 thanks to Mr. Mojo against our nominee George W. Bush and you sound the same today as you did then.

"This is one conservative, pro-life Republican who would be very happy to vote for Rudy for President."

And I am another.

What Rudy-bashers should understand is that, at least in my case, I do not endorse Rudy's stance on many issues, but I understand them - and I do NOT, in these dangerous times, let them act as a deterrent to voting for him.

These are dangerous times, dangerous times. Rudy's leadership is PROVEN in the pressure-cooker bastion of liberalism that is New York City.

It's not lip service - his ACTIONS speak for themselves. Yes, including suing a gun manufacturer, whom he believed was indirectly responsible for the death of cops. Rudy is nothing if not fiercely pro-cop.

I would vote for ANY Republican before I would stay home and let Hillary pollute the White House yet again. You want to oppose Rudy? Oppose him in the primaries. But if he IS the Republican nominee, and you stay home rather than support him, who is the real RINO?

If a registered Republican doesn't vote for the Republican candidate, it's the quintessential definition of Republican in name only.

What could be more RINO-esque than NOT voting for the Republican candidate?

I am a Republican and you have no right to judge.

I have no right to judge? What kind of nonsense is THAT? The post in question was shown TO BE BOGUS. You, nopardons and AmeriBrit were gloating over it, sliming Hunter left and right, all the while refusing to post links so others could see what the source was for your attacks on a principled conservative. When the truth came out, AmeriBrit was sent to the cooler for spreading slander - it was that bad.

I asked you specifically to retract AND YOU REFUSED. You didn't have the character to admit you were wrong and were misleadig the forum. And now you have the nerve to say I HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE YOU?

Here's a judgement - you just shredded what was left of your credibility on this forum with that statement.

BTW, I read your posts in 2000 thanks to Mr. Mojo against our nominee George W. Bush and you sound the same today as you did then.

Funny, a lot of the problems I had with Bush back then CAME TO PASS. He spends like a drunken sailor. He has promoted larger government. But at least he was pro-life and wasn't a gun-grabber. Rudy doesn't even have those positives.
