Chicago Tribune:
The heavy presence of security around Obama was also a silent reminder of the change that took place with the announcement. Michelle Obama, the candidate’s wife, acknowledged it in an interview to air on CBS’ “60 Minutes,” in which she was asked if she fears for her husband’s life as a black candidate.
“I don’t lose sleep over it because the realities are that . . . as a black man . . . Barack can get shot going to the gas station,” Michelle Obama said in the interview, set to air Sunday night. “You can’t make decisions based on fear and the possibility of what might happen.”
Well, I’m sure glad I’m white because that means I won’t be shot while “going to the gas station.” I forgot about that unwritten rule where only black men can be shot and no one else.

Last time I heard of someone getting shot at a gas station was when those 2 black guys were sniping at white people near Washington, DC.

You cant make decisions based on fear and the possibility of what might happen. Statistically, he is more likely to be shot by another black man.

Wasn't there a white person or two shot by John Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo while at a gas station?

Evidently, nobody get's shot at gas stations but black men? I guess all those dead white clerks don't count.

If there is anyone who should worry about being shot in this upcoming presidential campaign, it is NOT Barack Obama.
The last time a junior Senator ran for president from a major state, it didn't turn out so good.
Think '1968' and wonder if history could repeat itself.

Actually, statistically speaking it is more likely that Obama will be shot at that gas station by another black male under 35 yrs of age. And it is also almost as statistically probably and I will be shot at a gas station, also by a black male. I would suggest that Obama not get his gas in North Chicago or NE Washingtion D.C. where there are, statistically speaking, more of the people who shoot black men at gas stations. But I'm sure he already knows this because of his extensive experience being black in America.
But please tell Mrs Obama that I didn't miss her effort to try to equate her husband as being an endangered black man and that his life is under threat constantly by our racist society. That was loud as clear. Just like when Biden called Obama "clean" which is guilty white liberal for "could pass for White".
