I’ve got the sauce to say it: Barack Obama is a loser
Times UK ^

Posted on 02/12/2007 8:18:01 AM PST by jcb1379

It has been a mere 97 days since this writer’s last prediction on American politics (that the Republicans would not lose control of the Senate) proved so badly wrong that he was obliged to honour his pledge to eat his words with a dash of Tabasco sauce.

This was not without compensations. For one, I received a sympathetic letter from Paul C. P. McIlhenny, president of the company that makes Tabasco, along with a bottle of it large enough to last a lifetime. Next, the inept Democrats have already been so incompetent and incoherent since securing their majorities on Capitol Hill that they must secretly be wishing that they had lost.

More personal humiliation is invited. On Saturday Senator Barack Obama entered the battle for the White House. He did so to the backdrop of a media swoon. He trumpeted the themes of his recent volume, The Audacity of Hope. That his candidature is essentially audacious and relies an awful lot on hope was ignored by most of those who reported it. Someone has to point out that this balloon has hype not helium inside it. I will do so.

Mr Obama’s claim to the White House is ridiculous for three interconnected reasons. [SNIP]

"The United States once had a race problem in that black people were effectively excluded from the political process. Forty years on it has the reverse dilemma — those who would dismiss a white figure because he was unprepared for the most prominent national position will not do the same for a black one."

Missing by one seat isn't "badly wrong".

His race has nothing to do with it. Hillary will destroy him in public and behind the scenes. She has all the money and the best organization in politics. She will manipulate the polls and get the support of the MSM.

Funny, IMHO Colin Powell had a chance to be President or VP without anyone referring to their perception of another country's alleged race problems.

Better to judge someone on the content of his character than the color of his skin, as Dr. King put it. Judge Obama on
his character, principles, and stands--don't disregard
them just because he's of a different race than most
candidates. Judge him by the content of his character!

The money quote from the article:

"When he was pressed in a recent interview for detailed positions he replied that, unlike others in the 2008 struggle, he had already expressed himself in two books that had sold well.

Extensive research confirms that Kermit the Frog has also released two tomes that attracted a substantial share of dollars (Before You Leap and One Frog Can Make a Difference). As far as I am aware, Kermit is not in line for the Democratic nomination next time, but since this is a party that has put up John Kerry and Al Gore that cannot be discounted. And Kermit has been on the scene for several decades — unlike Mr Obama."

Gimme a break. Hillary won't even win the nomination. Hell, I'm not convinced she'll win a single primary. And if the media whores fall under the Obama spell, they don't have to hang w/ Hillary. I don't think either of them will get the DEM nomination. Whatever the conventional wisdom is, it's usually wrong.

Hitlery has the black vote and Obama has the woman vote. The Latinos will vote for neither.

Hitlery's really going to get a twofer out of this...Her machine is going to destroy Obama and simultaneously try to blame the smears on those "racist Republicans." If the Republican party isn't ready for it, she's going to mop the floor with them before the primaries even get rolling.

Barack Obama is full of platitudes. He doesn't advance one proposal for making America better or strengthening her presence in the world. His entry into the presidential race doesn't initiate a national conversation about who we are and where we need to go from here.

There is no doubt about that.  Hillary may very well win a general election as President.  However, when it comes down to pulling the lever on election day this nation won't install her as Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and she'll lose in a landslide for this very reason.

Obama is part of the colorful foilage, from which the chameleon emerges to accept her rightful coronation. Pan the smiley faces and fade to a Geico commercial.

This guy is quite the asshole isn't he? Howard Dean's presidential aspirations may have been risible, but Bradley, Forbes and Tsongas all would have made creditable presidents.
