(Kyodo) - North Korea has demanded it be provided with 1 million tons of fuel oil annually before it dismantles a nuclear facility and another 2 million tons annually after the dismantlement, a negotiation source said Sunday. The nation lodged the demand at the six-party talks on its nuclear programs being held in Beijing, the source said.

Perhaps we are not; it lets them say they are willing to negotiate.

Why can't the United States dismantle his reactor for him, and save the fuel?

batter yet, and far cheaper, the equivalent energy in propane; delivered in the form of fuel/air bombs.

The North Koreans could burn bodies, they have enough of them available lately .....

Great idea! And can solve that problem from way back, where NK insisted on 2-party talks.
Therefore, I'd suggest NK get down right now, and enter 2-party talks with Iran. Iran agrees to provide the fuel oil, and NK agrees to dismantle its reactors.

Tell them to call Hugo Chavez, he's giving the stuff away to American, why not the North Koreans. Heck, dictators should help each other out when they get the chance.

Interesting. It seems Kim Jong Il is getting desperate. GWB did fall for his earlier cons and now he is in trouble. I wonder what he will do when the people finally revolt....
A few more years of this and the way he shafted China last year by stealing their food trains he will implode.

So, same deal as before -- we prop up their failing regime in exchange for a temporary concession, until they decided to repeat the process a few years down the road? That really worked out well for us the last time.
