Giuliani Strikes a Note With California GOP Testing the Waters, Former N.Y. Mayor Garners 4 Ovations
SACRAMENTO, Feb. 10 -- Rudolph W. Giuliani came west to learn whether his brand of Republican politics has a chance among party members significantly more conservative than himself. By the time he had received a fourth standing ovation Saturday at the California Republican Party convention, the answer seemed clear.
Equating the U.S. fight against terrorism with the Civil War and the Cold War, Giuliani told about 750 of his party's faithful that failure in Iraq would turn that country into a "massive headquarters for terrorism."
"Having had a job where I didn't have any choice but to make a decision," the former mayor of New York said, "prepares you as best you can be prepared to be the president of the United States."

We need a better conservative candidate than Rudy.
We need a better conservative candidate than Rudy.
We need a better conservative candidate than Rudy.
Bears repeating. Thanks.
Thanks for the primary report.

You know I try to argue you fair, so I refer more to the waste of bandwidth part. Besides that, is it not factual?
If the forum owner is OK with it, and it's factually correct, what's the beef?
Hmmmm. Does that mean we're going to have to delay the coronation of Rudy a few more days?
I dont know ask them. All I know is ive seen several folks that dont grace our threads (rudy or hunter) who state that they havent picked a candidate yet.
It still early, some folks just arent in rush i guess.
Abortion is still on-demand.
He voted for many of Bush's big-government programs.
He did nothing about the 20,000+ gun control laws in existence.
He supports strong border enforcement, but none other than Harry Reid did too back in 1993. So...instead of a fence just for CA, why couldn't he have hooked up with Reid and sealed the borders at the time?
I like Hunter, but he's a Congressman. He just has his work cut out for him. If by divine intervention he wins the GOP nomination then of course I'd support him (Unlike you schlocks who'll ball up and stay home if Rudy wins the nomination)
The worst part is the SoCons will swallow it hook, line, and sinker!
Fight your own battles.
This one is simple. Chin up.
Yeah,(to borrow a Nixonism:) "Rudy plays well in Raleigh." That wasn't because of the South's natural affinity to New Yawkers, it was because Rudy has done his homework and cultivated what counts in Dixie. I'd say his showing so far has exceeded expectations.
In fact, at conventions functions prior to the Giuliani speech, there were probably just as many stickers for Mitt Romney or Duncan Hunter as there were for Rudy.
Why keep posting it though? Who is it going to sway? We're all conservatives here. Those who support Rudy know all about his liberal past.
You think DU members are reading the chart and will suddenly become enlightened or something?
As for lurkers.
I lurked for about 3 years before I registered. you see things and learn things here on FR that you wont see on the MSM (including Duncan Hunter). I found it a good source of additional information.
not everyone has jumped on a candidates bandwagon yet.
Huh? I am on the side of Americans and conservatives, what side are you on?
For once, you and I agree.
You "like" Hunter. You LOVE Rudy. Rudy loves East Coast liberal positions. I don't. As long as he takes NARAL's money, Rudy is a babykiller. He is odious. Does that word mean anything to you?
Glad to have you aboard, although we registered her around the same time. Yeah, I lurked a long time too.
