I don’t really get the point except that You Tube is being hypocritical and that’s no real surprise.

I’m no fan of the radical teachings of Islam. But then I’m also no big fan of radical, hate filled interpretations of any religious text or belief or dogma.

So this guy is an Atheist? I’d be curious to see how many here would call for banning his You Tube account if he posted a similar video (and perhaps he did) with quotes from the Old Testament of the Book of Revelations. I’m no Biblical scholar but I recall that there’s a lot in there about bad stuff happening to non-believers.

While I might call them out on their hypocrisy, You Tube is a privately owned company and while we and I like to think it’s an open haven for free speech (and free sharing of copyrighted material), as a commercial concern, they have no obligation to be a forum for anyone to say anything they want. They can ban anyone for whatever reason they want – just like the Mods at FR.

Perhaps You Tube got complaints about the last video but not his others that might have been anti Christian? If they got similar complaints and didn’t suspend his account, well that’s wrong in theory - but not illegal.

As I understand free speech according to the Constitution, we have a right to express our political and religious beliefs but we are not guaranteed a commercial forum to do so.

I’m more concerned about hate crimes legislation that targets certain beliefs for criminal prosecution than I am about what You Tube does.

Owned by Google.

I posted this for three reasons. The primarily reason is that it's a good video. Second, there really is no obvious reason to remove this video other than the left-wing pro-Islam lets hide the truth because it hurts Republicans reasons. And yes, that is not a surprise. But if we didn't point out left wing bias here, there really isn't much need to post articles from the NYT, CNN, MSNBC, etc. And if there wasn't so much rampant left wing bias in our media there wouldn't be much demand for Free Republic. I'm somewhat surprised, by the way, that we made it almost 20 posts without someone pointing out he was an atheist. Actually, I'm somewhat encouraged that someone who is an "active atheist" would take an interest in this subject. A lot of those people you see supporting him on YouTube are liberals. And the third reason is the drama. It's obvious that he was greatly affected by having his videos removed. It says something about the virtual world that we live in today.

There are people talking to him about how he'd made things about the hate in the bible too but they didn't get removed.

I agree with you that they have the right to do whatever they want. I just think it's very telling they decided to get rid of his entire account over this.

Such as...?

And please don't reply with "going to hell." The Bible never says anyone goes to hell for not believing.

My point in writing you is this: you weigh in on a subject, prefacing your remarks by announcing your relative ignorance.

Don't you see something wrong there?
