I hope someone with a better gift for the written word will drop a note of thanks to the reporter. Once in a while a good story comes along, and we need to be thankful.

After reading something like this the awe with which I view the many who have sacrificed all in the name of freedom and justice deepens...as does my hatred for the likes of Murtha,Carter,Clinton,Edwards,Osama Obama and *so* many others.

About a year ago, I was on a flight carrying a fallen soldier. A man in first class had given his seat to the military escort accompanying the fallen hero. Everyone stayed on the plane while the casket was unloaded and everyone wept, out of grief for the fallen, compassion for the family, appreciation for the service given, and a deep humility in the face of courage and sacrifice for our country and our freedoms. It was one of the most moving moments I have ever experienced.

I was under the impression that all deceased soldiers were accompanied by a special escort from the military. Is that only for those who died in combat?

Not sure I have a gift for the written word, but I did drop a line to the reporter.
"THANK YOU! Your article detailing the tributes for our fallen military personnel has moved me to tears. Too often the convictions of the 'silent majority' are drown by the din of an angry minority. Please express my kindest regards and utmost respect for the police, firemen and others who have demonstrated the highest ideals of citizenship."

My husband's dispatcher's son was killed in Iraq this week. He was due to come home soon as his tour of duty was at the very end. His brother, a fellow marine, had served two tours there and this younger brother was on his first. No details on arrangements yet.
