Let me say it this way. A pardon is premature. I would guess we could probably both agree on that.

I will leave the rest aside the other issues as tangential at this juncture.

No one ever said you couldn't speak your mind about your liberal tendencies. We also have the right to speak our mind about your liberal opinions.

And when you come here with an accusation of opinion that you think the border patrol agents were going to steal the drugs, then we have a right to tell you that perhaps you should look in the mirror and take a long look when you accuse others of "conspiracy theories".

This may already have been addressed, but there's something I've never understood about this case: Why did the U.S. government land so heavily on these two agents? It sure seems like an "administrative" offense worthy of a fine and 3 day suspension, not a federal felony conviction. Can someone please explain?

What about this...in light of this new information, submission of a new motion requesting that they be released pending appeal? (The same motion that was denied previously.)

Can we find common ground on that? (Of course, I don't even know if such a thing is done...legal folks?)

I think the demand should be full reistatement, with a clean record or Sandy Berger should go to jail. NO FREEDOM FOR HERO AGENTS...THEN JAIL TIME FOR BERGER! a TIT FOR TAT

You know, thats exactly the kind of the healthy government and justice system and society our soldiers have worked so tirelessly and bravely to defend. A Tit for Tat that is the envy of the entire third world. /sarcasm

Now I remember why I should stay off illegal immigration threads.

The bigotry and xenophobia shown in these threads is nauseating...and no, I am not calling you such, dirtboy.

Later.....

Absolutely. My guess is that they will get it with this new evidence.

OMG! It's all so predictable isn't it? That racist card gets well used by the open borders crowd before they run off into the shadows only to appear again in another thread to try the same old worn out crap.

It's a Federal screw-a-thon. Everyone gets screwed except for the Mexican drug dealer. FOAD Johnny Sutton and the other top ranking US Gubbermint scum down at the border. FOAD Alberto and other DC open borders traitors

It is hard to see such injustice without involving heart and soul as well as mind. This is the worst injustice I have been aware, of as affecting the future of our country, in all my 70 years, for the simple reason that so few see the case for the open border (and drug cartel) advocacy that it is!!

At this point I cannot imagine why ANYONE would consider working for the Border Patrol.

Yep, your job is to stop the invaders while your Commander in Chief waves them in. I've seen rankings of job satisfaction within the federal government and border patrol is near the bottom.

I have a strong suspicion that Johnny Sutton has just proven the Peter Principle.

Ok. I accept you see it that way and as such it is a very emotional issue for you. That makes sense.

Just stick to hiring them ya hypocrite. You are part of the problem, not part of the solution. The two Border Agents in prison are part of the solution. They keep illegals out while phony conservatives like you hire them thus drawing them North

Why did the U.S. government land so heavily on these two agents?

That IS the question. I guess one hint at the answer would be to read how the Mexican papers are covering this. It might tell us that this is shameless pandering by our Government to make our government look sympathetic and responsive to Mexico.

Of course, it is possible, along the border to find a lot of anti-American feelings. Remember, for the past 20 or 30 years, the border has been wide open and the division between Mexico and America has become almost a figment of map-makers imagination.

I do wonder about the juries who convicted these agents. But - even if they weren't antagonistic to "la migre", they apparently did not hear significant parts of evidence.

Yep, I agree based on what has been reported. (I have to add that caveat because I trust almost nothing of what I read. ;-) )
