If DHS lied about these men, as Skinner told a Congressional committee the other day, then I want the investigation taken out of DHS's hands and a special prosecutor appointed. Period.

The fact that the perp got immunity and the BP agents got jail stinks to me. I want a thorough investigation, not an in-house crooked DHS investigation.

Especially if this Sanchez guy is a life-long buddy of the perp as I read today here on FR.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven.

1rudeboy, did some interesting research, but don't think for a minute that this whole case from the start, doesn't have lot of things going on behind the curtain (not even the great Oz could have imagined all that has happened to this point).

Oh Jeez. I can now see why you said in the other thread that you'd be "buried" by this thread. I'll pick this thing up tomorrow, but until then, I suggest you don your kevlar undies, as this article is about to get picked apart.

Reading the report, one easily understands why the jury convicted the two agents of almost all the counts they faced. Reading the report, one easily sees that the revisionist version of events being peddled by the agents and their cheerleaders is a patent fabrication — as different from the stories Compean and Ramos were telling in the aftermath of the shooting as night is from day.

McCarthy is too funny! He is lauding a report that is basically a long winded account of the story, as told by one Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, part-time drug smuggler masquerading as a commercial trucker, intertwined with conveniently redacted names and whole paragraphs and pages. The DHS-OIG lists 93 exhibits to this document--but they include only 3. Why?

Oh, and did I forget to mention that the reports author, Ms. Elizabeth M. Redman, Assistant Inspector General or Investigations, is the same LIAR fabricated information in talking to Congressmen, stating that Ramos and Compean were rogue cops and "out to shoot Mexicans"?

Andy, Andy, Andy.... get back to watching Fitzgerald's backside.

I read the article, but it seems very long on charges and innuendos and very short on facts.

I still think this whole business stinks.

This screed by McCarthy only repeats the same line the Bush Administration has been using from the start. And that is, if a bunch of lies can be thrown at a jury, and the jury believes the lies, then the two Border Patrol Agents must be guilty.

If this case was adjuticated properly that means Ramos and Campeanos actually wanted to spend their life in prison or face the death penalty.

Andrew C. McCarthy is trying to play the role for Sutton that Wendy Murphy played for Nifong. Dead Wrong.
