Weather is not climate.
But, I had to listen to enough people last summer saying "Boy its really hot today, and some folks don't believe in global warming", I guess I can hear the other side as well!

There is a lot of junk science in the "global warming" field, but we should at least know what the theory of global warming does, and does not, predict.
"Global warming" is not a prediction that every spot on the globe is going to get steadily warmer each day. It is a theory about climate, not weather.
If, in fact, the climate as a whole is getting warmer, one of the short term effects will be colder weather in North America and Europe, as polar ice melts, drifts into the North Atlantic, and cools the neighboring continents.

the boston globe has recently been experiencing global warming

The question becomes...What is normal?...
Normal temps or sea levals or ice thickness is all relative on an ancient ever evolving planet...
Which begs another question...Why is it that plants and animals must truly evolve without human intervention but not the planet itself...Hmmmm

Yesterday I read a libtard blog about people killed in Florida by the "freak" tornadoes caused by global warming. I responded by asking why he doesn't mention people killed by the cold across the midwest. My question didn't last long before he yanked it but it did spark a lot of similar comments and the idiot ended up yanking the whole blog.

This actually really funny when you think about it. Not funny when you think about the coming heating bills.
The global warming hysteria has been at it's height and we get the big long blast of cold air.
Combined with the washout of a hurricane season (what about the 15 hurricane predication that was scaring everyone a year ago?)
So we have no hurricanes and a really cold winter. Won't make much of a dent in the hysteria; to much global warming grant money out there and to much anti-western, anti-capitalism hate.

If Al Gore gets an Academy award for his film on global warming I am going to be sick. What will you do when he gets a Nobel? He has been nominated. Jimmy Carter got one.

"If, in fact, the climate as a whole is getting warmer, one of the short term effects will be colder weather in North America and Europe, as polar ice melts, drifts into the North Atlantic, and cools the neighboring continents." And can you tell us who of the current meteorologist or climatologist is saying that the current winter blast in the northeast is being caused by melting ice?
To: holymoly
It's no longer called "snow". It's "global warming debris".

I live near the New Hampshire border and it has been very cold these past four weeks. It has not gotten above freezing and every lake and river around here is frozen so that you can walk over them. When I go for my early morning walk, it is usually near zero or in the single numbers.
It cold.

What is the "correct" global temperature? It's been both hotter and colder, regardless of human activity. Does the planet have a "normal" temperature? Does the sun have anything to do with what the temperature "ought" to be? Does anyone actually know? What are the tests that have proved that the global warming theories are sound science? How is it the hurricane predictions were so wrong this last season if the science is so sound? How is it that the predictions about the rising ocean levels keep lowering with every UN report?

So let me get this straight. If it gets colder its GW, if it gets warmer its GW, if it rains its GW and if we have droughts its GW. GW doesn't mean the whole globe and as the climate gets warmer NA and Europe will get colder, even though the signs of GW are supposedly warmer temps in NA and Europe. Thank you Mr. Gore.

If, in fact, the climate as a whole is getting warmer I'll accept that it is. The question is why? In my admittedly uneducated opinion, I don't think that we're the major part of it. I sure wish that there would be a true scientific debate on this, not just a one sided left wing diatribe.
