Fences are a joke and everyone should know it! Rewards for turning in illegals (Criminal or Whatever)! Fines for businesses who hire them! Balanced budget! Legal immigration only! Enough said!

TR and Truman had also held elective office, TR in much more high profile positions, before they became president.

I am not dismissing him out of hand. However, I am afraid that even at almost two years out, it is already too late for him, unless he is going for Vice President.

Ah, you're an authority on OH now? So you can tell my exactly what Martin Arbagi was "dishonest" about?
Slimy answer.

And I could probably give you five other congressmen, maybe even a senator, with equally good voting records. So what? They aren't running. Hunter is running, but is absolutely unelectable, not because of positions, but because he hasn't laid the proper groundwork to run. And I think there is something in the Bible about a man not building a house until he has laid the proper foundation. It speaks in part to judgment and patience.
As I say, if DH is doing all this as his FIRST step in aiming for a 2012 run, then it's well planned.

Good idea!! We'll run Rudy this time around and then Duncan Hunter can run against Hillary Clinton in 2012.
To: upsdriver
Sorry, but I cannot agree. Fences are a money pit! Why would you want to spend millions to build them, millions to maintain them, millions to blow up the tunnels built under them, and on and on and on. The federal Government knows what it will take to stop it but refuse to do it. Fine businesses who hire them! The only answer. Possibly a system like Canada has where the entire burden is placed on the business who employs them! They are responsible for getting them to Canada and getting them out! Sounds pretty good to me.

I was referring to all the scandals in the news, not your guy. From what I hear the republican party is a mess there right now. That doesn't help anyone.

"Hunter is running, but is absolutely unelectable,"
Sez you.
I say there are two types of Americans in 2007: Americans and American'ts, winners and losers.
And Duncan is a winner.

It's looking more and more like Hillary and Rudy or McCain in '08.
Time to look into third partys.
The Constitution Pary is right on everything except foreign policy; they might be a place to start.

So okay, fine businesses who hire illegals. That's answer two!
