Harriet Woods, Former Lt. Governor of Missouri, has passed away

They just anounced that Harriett passed away at the age of 79, from leukemia. Her family was at her side.

Harriet Woods was a very liberal democrat and quite the feminist. What in particular do you think she did for this state?

No problem. She was a hard worker for the state, just not in the way that I would have preferred. :)

I wasn't a big fan of hers but I met her one time when she was coming through a Missouri state office building in Springfield campaigning for governor, if I recall correctly. I thought that was a little out of place, but I'm still sorry to see her passing. She used to be on public television in St. Louis when I lived there. Sad news.

She ran for US Senate in 1986 and lost.
