[Elizabeth M. Redman
Assistant Inspector General for Investigations]

Thanks, I was too lazy to go through my posts.:)

So, if I understand correctly, this is the DHS employee who wrote the false report and reported to Congress? Weren't there other DHS employees spewing the same lies to Congress? Sorry to be a pain, but the exact names of all Government employees involved in this fabrication need to be named.

Seems like someone should be looking into the finances of Sanchez.

Do you know if this is something that is commonly done by DHS Agents?

I don't know about that, but Sanchez's taking the bullets to the Texas state lab for ballistics testing was, per some reports, unusual and not normal procedure. Normally, such evidents tests are done by the FBI, not by a state agency.

Who did Nifong Sanchez know at the ballistics lab?

Every new turn in this case seems to open up new questions.

The mainstream press is now doing zero in this case. It has also been blown off the air by the Anna Nichole Smith celebrity death. It's wall-to-wall salacious pictures and commentary on her and her stupid life.

This feels like the old days of Bill Clinton, when just as things were getting hot for him and he was being exposed in the media, some weird, strange thing happened, took over, and buried it. Quite often it was a sudden death of some sort. Is the Clinton War Room working for the current Administration?

The media in this country is disgraceful.

Okay... to me more complete for anyone else reading, the meeting we are talking about is the one between OIG and the Congressman, described in the first part of this letter from Rep. McCaul (as well as the stonewalling that followed).
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1771737/posts?page=250#250

There are probably some written sources by now, but Sara A. Carter, ace reporter for the Inland Daily Bulletin, was on KFI Radio Wednesday and said that the names of the two people caught in the lie were:

• Elizabeth Redman, Assistant Inspector General for Investigations

• Tamara Faulkner, Congressional Affairs Liaison and Media and Public Outreach

You can find both of their bios here:

Sorry george, I don't know the details on this case, (I have been dealing with a family emergency and have been unable to keep up with the news lately.)

I have 'known' from the beginning there was something 'not quite right' about this case. The prosecution of these two agents and the involvement of the drug smuggler's mother, made it obvious to me there was something very underhanded going on. We shall see...

The judge in the high-profile case of two U.S. Border Patrol officers imprisoned after shooting and wounding a Mexican drug smuggler allegedly sealed key testimony

So, maybe that is why Tony Snow keeps telling inquiring minds to 'check the transcript'. He knows there isn't one available.

[The 'heavily' redacted transcript was apparently released Wednesday.]

I've looked at the docket. There is a ton of evidence that was sealed, also jury notes and various proceedings. Lots of info that couldn't be discussed or introduced. They even sealed the verdict! So, the transcripts would never include any of that anyway. It sounds good: wait for the transcripts... but those won't tell the whole story.

Good morning.
"I bet that somebody I knew when I was seven is now in prison somewhere."

And you would travel to a foreign country to bring them back for medical treatment, even though they were drug dealing criminals? And you would help to use them to persecute your coworkers?

You are going to hurt yourself stretching to find ways support the conviction of the BP guys.

Illegal immigration is the on issue that very few Americans can vote on. When all the candidates in a race support the side of an issue that 55% or 95% of the electorate oppose, which side of the issue will prevail? You have to vote for someone or for no one. So you can only vote on the other issues. Any way you vote or don't that one side of that issue will win.

He's got to be hating it. Yes, that's his job, but how far do you have to sell your soul for a paycheck?

Snow probably drew a fatter check at FNC than he does now.

So what is this guy's real name, anyway?
Osvaldo or Osbaldo?
Aldrete or Alderete?
Davila or Avila?

You have just stumbled upon a key element in the LA "multiple benefits" game. Being essentially undocumented on our side of the border means you can be anyone you like, whenever you like, or need to be..

Also, there are far fewer surnames en español than in English. The confusion, and the traditional use of the mother's name (i.e. Aldrete y Avila, Aldrete Avila, Avila, Davila, Aldrete de Avila, Aldrete-Avila, Davila-Aldrete, same guy, 10 different hospital cards, SS cards, DLs, Green cards, Border passes, some real, some fake) are no help to law enforcement.

It is entirely possible that the Sanchez connection is something this guy has been working for years.

Investigation please.

If my job was an investigator for the DHS, and I was told by my supervisor to retreive a witness in a case, I wouldn't refuse simply because I knew them as a child.

I don't know. I thought he was a DHS employee, and therefore would have a DHS supervisor. Somewhere up the chain is Michael Chertoff, and then the President.

I didn't think the prosecuters were bosses in the Department of Homeland Security, I thought Sutton was in the justice department, so while he might have been working on an investigation for the justice department, I think his boss is a DHS employee.

But that's all conjecture. I bet there's a web site that would tell us all we need to know about that though -- I just don't know what that website is.

I haven't seen independent verification of that, but in either case why would it still be sealed, now that they case is over, unless they are worried that the case might have to be retried on appeal? Why a permanent seal?
