From what I understand, this plane costs about $20,000 per flight hour to operate. Round trip between DC and SF would be about 8-10 flight hours, assuming no delays either way. She's announced that the plane must be available for her to make this run twice a week (probably a very low ball figure - expect her to have it in almost constant use, ferrying family and friends and campaign donors all over the earth on various junkets). But assuming two DC-SF round trip runs a week, we're talking $320,000 - $400,000 per week. That comes out to $16.6 to $20.8 million per year.
She has lost her mind and is not fit to be speaker if she thinks the taxpayer should foot that kind of bill. I hope this wasn't the sacrifice the taxpayer would be asked to make.
