Women shun 'the man who has it all'

Some men are just too good to be true, according to a study published today by psychologists.
Men who are good-looking, single, and earn a fortune are not as attractive as good-looking men who have an average kind of job, according to the research.
Simon Chu of the University of Central Lancashire and colleagues studied how women weigh up male physical attractiveness and socio-economic status when considering a long-term relationship.
They collected data from 186 female university students in the UK, with an average age of 23, asking them to look at personal ads of various men and rank them in terms of attractiveness as a long-term partner. Each advertisement showed a "mug shot" and provided basic information about his age, occupation and what he is seeking in a partner.
Images of the men ranged from those who were previously measured to be highly attractive, attractive and unattractive. Eighteen different occupations were also randomly assigned, from architect and company director to waiter, postman and gardener.
Surprisingly, researchers found that highly attractive men of medium status scored better than highly attractive men of high status.
The team, whose work is published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, speculates that women perceive highly attractive men of increasing status to be less faithful and "too good to be true".
A woman can't tell you what she wants. If she is an honest person, her answer will be what she thinks she ought to want, but not what she actually responds to. And she'll find the latter impossible to define.
Make no mistake, they look for the handsome, exciting guys when they're young and having fun.
But, after all the fun is over, or not worth dealing with the other deficiencies these men have, the women start to look for the nice guy who has been stable the whole time. The looks aren't as important this time around, as now they realize the very things that the attractive guys couldn't offer, the nice guys can.
However, the things that the nice guy has wanted to offer, he won't be able to, though she might not even want it anymore (fun time's over, Johnny). Needless to say, it can become a source of resentment for that stable, nice guy who did, indeed, finish last.
If women really wanted what they say they want, there would be no country and western music!
Actually it's a 70's band from the Seattle area.
Women may say that because they don't want to seem shallow, desperate, grasping, and (worst of all) inferior. Saying they aspire to the man who "has it all" goes against 50+ years of feminist indoctrination. When it comes to people in general, watch what they do--not what they say.
IMHO women definitely want the $$$ but they don't want to be second fiddle to the long hours and passion for work that is required to earn those $$$. Also, the guys with $$$ know they have the pick of the crop and the high potential for being summarily dumped when a better looking ...... comes along is not an appealing potential event for most women.
I am a woman.
Here's what I want:
1. a real man, no metrosexual types
2. conservative political philosophy and traditional family philosophy
3. smart
4. good natured and good humored
5. reasonably financially secure
I want my very own Newt.
Many women just want to sleep with me and use me for sex....that's all. I want a relationship. I never thought I'd ever be in this situation. I got a good profession, have a good amount of land, a house with 4000 square feet in it, have a boat and toys, and can't get a steady.....
There's got to be a country song in here somewhere...
From a woman's point of view, this research has as many holes as a sieve.
Yes, it's a curse I have just had to learn to live with.
This study ain't worth the paper it's printed on. Hope the UK taxpayers didn't have to pay for it.
I've been told both, but the latter more often.
You beat me to it - but, when/if you get done with him, call me.
Sorry, I'm already married. Better lower your standards.
