"It wouldn't matter if it "passed" or not. On its face it would be tossed out as it attempts to rewrite section 1 of the 14th amendment without going through the mandated process."
I could care less. It might get some of those that oppose it on the record if favor of the butchery!

Or in favor of not treating the Constitution like a prop in a puppet theater for morons.

Well, I hadn't noticed a right to kill babies in the Constitution either.

Surely even your reading comprehension is better than that.
The stunt (that's what it is) of putting forth a bill for the express purpose of changing the Constitution (specifically section 1 of the 14th amendment) and NOT putting it forth AS an amendment is a ridiculous, impotent, useless gesture.
It is nothing but theater, with the Constitution treated as a meaningless prop.

"If we should but control our lusts at the start and if we would not kill off the human race born and developing according to the divine plan, then our whole lives would be lived according to nature."
"Women who resort to some sort of deadly abortion drug kill not only the embryo, but, along with it, all human kindness." Ibid, 23:174

One thing it does is let us know where Hunter stands and that he will put justices on the Supreme Court to overturn this travesty.
The Constitution does not need to be amended to protect life, leberty, or the pursuit of happiness.

That question is one to be raised with the courts, not me.
The fact that many disagree with the courts' findings doesn't give some ignorant congress-critter the right or authority to go about rewriting passages of the Constitution unless the tax leeching ballot louse grows the stones to propose it AS a Constitutional amendment.

Where in sec1 of the 14th does it say that abortion is a right?
Laws have been passed, and go unchallenged, that charge two counts of murder for the death of a pregnant woman.

IMHO there is only one candidate our founding fathers, if they were alive and voter elegible, would vote for. The Morman might run a close second but my research points to Duncan Hunter. Think about it. Do your own research and see what you come up with.

I withdraw my earlier (kind) reservations. Your reading comprehension IS that bad.
I'm not here to defend abortion, and opposing stupid, useless travesties of the Constitutional process (like this moronic bill) won't make it so, Karl.
What Hunter's bill attempts to do is redefine citizen and person as currently defined, without being brave enough to put it forth as an amendment.
Which begs the question: Why?
It's not like he's going to get a floor vote on it, anyway, especially in this Congress.
What would he have lost by doing it right, like a real American?
